Stringfellow got kicked out of school, moved across the country, and then still had to sit a year.

You can keep repeating his name....it won't change the fact that he actually had a punishment.

And then straight into spin.

That video is like 5 years ago and anyone living in the state of Mississippi remembers good old Brad trying to piss Dan Mullen off everytime he was present. He was an attention whore if you ask me and thought provoking people would make a name for himself. He pulled this garbage on Mullen the day he was hired. You are a joke and everyone knows about Brad.

You might be the dumbest troll on this site.

Again, they don't owe the media jack shite, any interview is essentially a favor. You can believe otherwise, that doesn't make it correct. There is a reason you see Spurrier leave press conferences or Saban act the way he does, it's because it's something they do for the media and none of them respect their time.

That shite with the reporter acting hostile toward Scott was bush league. There is no way around it. Any other legitimate reporter will gawk at that shite and tell you it's unethical.

Mullen had set the policy of not discussing injuries and all other questions were fine and the local media knew it. Brad Locke knew this and always asked him about injuries just to provoke him. This time it was on video but Brad Locke was acting cool while trying to get a response. Good grief anyone who remembers Locke knows how he operated.

The universities and the conference have policies about coaches making themselves available for interviews. It's not a favor. It's literally part of the job description. It is literally in their contract. So, this is a point of fact, not a point of opinion. You're wrong.

And moving on to issues of opinion: I personally believe that reporters are doing coaches and programs a favor when they put up with their shite, and give the programs objective, professional coverage.

You are delusional, they don't owe the media shite. And provide said video of Mullen berating a reporter. He said he wasn't going to talk about injuries anymore, that is hardly berating. Scott should have had the hostile reporter in this interview removed from the room.

How yall handle the media is very well documented.
Do yall not remember Bill Martin's tweet?

Here you go taking things out of context. A head coach may choose what to answer and what not to answer. For Mullen, injuries were off limits even if you don't like it.

I love how easy it is to lose perspective when arguing on a message board with rivals. The media grilled him for giving him the same penalty as targeting. None of yall think that is right, yet you are grilling the media for grilling your AD on something that isnt right.

Stricklin has actually received praise on Twitter from some media members for going out there and answering the tough questions.

First of all, the issue isn't whether he chose to answer the question. It was him acting like a douchebag to the reporter.

Second: He talks about injuries to reporters all the time. He doesn't have a policy about it. He was just being a dick.

I just think coming across hostile to the AD is unethical. I wouldn't have answered any of his questions until he asked them appropriately. It's completely possible to be passionate about something and still act like an adult.

No, he didn't like Brad Locke because he always tried to make a name for himself by stirring the pot.

Again, no. They agree and are contracted to appear before the media. They can sit there and say not jack shite if they want to. Which is why I used Spurrier as an example, or see Cam after the Super Bowl. The media seems to have some sense of entitlement where they think they are owed any and all information, and it simply isn't true.

What would be the appropriate penalty for Simmons just beating up on some scrawny dude rather than a female?

Wrong. Have them cut off the media and see what happens. It is a state school and if you think they have no obligation to be transparent with the media you are sorely mistaken. Are they legally obligated to discuss this specific issue? Probably not. But the people of the state of MS have a right to hear their employee explain the issue. It is part of his job.
