Penn State is 7-1 because of their defense. They are solid on defense every year. I'm sure LSU fans haven't forgotten the 2010 Capital One Bowl already.

They are 7-1 because of their schedule and they play in a very weak Big 10.

I believe this game comes down to QBs and I think Leeferson is head and shoulders better than AJ McCarron. Not a flame, just the truth. 15TDs to 1INT plus 2 rushing TDs

Come on Lsu people realize the best defense y'all played was the wanna be bulldogs from Mississippi state and they held y'alls potent offense to 19 points I believe correct me if I'm mistaken. So please realize its a evenly matched game Roll Tide.

What about the field that Bama played Utah on in the Sugar Bowl?

What about it? I've never heard a Bama fan say anything about that field. The only thing I remember Bama fans saying is how crappy Bama played in that game. No one made any excuses about refs or field conditions.

LSu won by 3 points and it took 2 Bama turnovers, one blown coverage by our 2 first year starter CB's (not gonna happen this year) and lucky arse fake field goal. Bama will not make those mistakes this year. 24-13 Bama.

great objective analysis mr. space cadet.

you failed too mention LSU had a terrible pass game last year overall. or that our defense is way better this year or that our special teams are way better this year also. LSU's offense is light years better this year. You also fail too mention you lose studs and experience off a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team like Ingram(yes, i know TR is good also), McElroy, and julio jones.

SO, we do not get credit for creating those turnovers against you last year? you gave them to us?

no way our D creates any TO's this year especially with AJ back there in the pocket? umm ok. whatever.

it is part of the game, quit making excuses. you were supposed to BLOW US OUT LAST year. Not only did you not do that YOU LOST as well! lmao.

you better be ready this year for fake punts, because if one time your boys run back to set up a return Wing will run it for a 1st!if you go for the block we will pin you deep all day long. wing and our special teams has only given up 7 RETURN YARDS ALL YEAR LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! we will have plenty opportunities to use a run-pass option off of speed options, jet sweeps and toss sweeps with JJ, Ware, and Shep. when one of those guys pulls -up after we set you up early, you best be ready.

we are gonna see how good those big LB's you have are if they can cover our TE's down the seams and keep up with our WR's and RB's underneath. we will load the box and run blitz and make AJ beat us. then we will blitz him. both teams will have to watch out for screens during blitzes no doubt.

can't wait to see what excuses you come up with after this year.

Never said it was.

I'm not sure how you got this from the OP.

We're on a message board with the main purpose of discussing teams of 18-23 YOs. Get that weak flame out of here.

please. you know the field conditions were horrible so STFU about penn state's defense. any defense would have an advantage in those conditions.

Bama has played the easiest schedule of any of the Top 10 Teams, with the exception of Boise St. Ark is the only team that can be considered to be any good at this point and the jury is still out on them being a top 10 team. Bama's conference schedule to date was against the 6W, 6E, 4E,3E,3W. Throw in North TX and Kent St and you would have a pre-season.

TL;DR version: McCarron is neither great nor is he a liability

Agreed. Much the same for LSU's qb's, although Lee has become someone over the past two seasons who has thrown recievers open on occasion. Both guys have proven they can make a tough throw under pressure and have done so against 'Bama. I give LSU the slight edge at QB play on the 5th.

Penn St will not be in the top 20 by the end of the year, the only difference at this point between their schedule and bama's is bama.

I don't think its any big secret that the key to stopping Bama is to control the run game and stop the screen game. You can't win with dink and dunk passing alone.

if Bama's receivers can get open against LSU's DBs McCarron will have a good day. I don't expect him to "throw open" any receivers though.

And I'm hoping LSU plays up tight just for this reason......MAKE him beat us deep and take away the short stuff as much as possible.

TR out of the backfield will be key for our D....as it pertains to the passing game.

i guess not. He throws wide open WRs into diving catches 5 times a game.

well, good point because we will be loading the box and run blitzing to stop the run so if bama dinks and dunks also, this sets up nice for us to squat on short routes as well. keep all 11 up close. force them to beat us in man coverage deep.

The deep throw to Maze was defended well with a nice throw and catch.

Are you blind? The ball went directly through the safeties hands. If he wouldn't have had butter-fingers it would have been a pick.
