Apparently the LSU booster who sponsors the bootleggers 7 on 7 team has told the team that if Shea Patterson stays on the team he is pulling his sponsorship dollars. This 7 on 7 stuff is starting to smell like AAU hoops which is not good.

I see nothing wrong with this. If this LSU booster contributes his own money, he can do what he likes with it.

And why is everyone so hell bent on handling football players with kid gloves? Kids need to understand that life presents you with decisions and those decisions always have consequences. The sooner people learn this in life, the better.

Yes, it certainly has nothing to do with another top-ranked QB recruit committing. And I'm sure his brother being hired by Ole Miss had nothing to do with why he switched.

Oh well.

Switched?

The utter ignorance of some homerist LSU fans is astounding and the fact that the few smart LSU fans don't call them out is even worse! I mean what fricking idiot claimed SP's only play horrible 2A competition indicates that he can't compete at the SEC level? So I guess he didn't play against:

Parkway
Byrd
West Monroe
LaGrange

Please do us a favor and weed that dumbass out of your gene pool before he or she reproduces a new batch of retards!

This is what I've been hearing the past couple of days. Someone tweeted this thread to me earlier. I'm not going to get into much more because talking negatively about a recruit and his family is something I don't agree with. I love Shea to death and think the world of him. That's about the only true statement in this whole thread. Things were happening around the team that I don't agree with and it had to stop. This organization has always been self-funded, for the kids and one of the best times I've ever had. It's about as pure as it could ever be and I'm proud of that.

Mark my words, this won't be the last accusation thrown our way relating to this issue. Some of the things I've heard today are the workings of a mad man. There are quality people that put a lot into building that group and as the one who started it I feel a level of responsibility lies on my shoulders. This thread is the exact reason it couldn't go on anymore. Putting dozens of kids at risk because you feel scorned is about as selfish and irresponsible as one could be. That's it from me.

Don't you Ole miss posters think that if LSU thought Shea Patterson was better than Franks they would have done whatever it took to give his brother a staff position that was better than what Ole Miss was offered. Come on guys lets use common sense here. Shea is a really good quarterback and will do good at Ole Miss but the LSU staff thinks Franks is a program changer and the better prospect. It's that simple.

WTF is up with the cryptic post? The whole "I love him, but bad things around the team so he had to go!" Sounds like you didn't like his choice and he was "distracting" the other kids to me. Oh btw, you loved him so much you came on here and defended his choice didn't you???????

You really have no clue about anything you're speaking of. The cryptic message is to simply protect the kids and their best interest.

If that was the case, ignore the post and move on. Coming on here and defending yourself with cryptic posts about agendas, influences of kids, blah blah blah reeks of self serving rather than what is best for the kids!

Funny that you remove SP and replace him with FF....but that was best for the kids...you got some ocean front property in Kansas for sell to

La Bootleggers so you started this team?

And now the funding and pocket stuffing has gone awry? Because the people financing it are afraid Shea will recruit the players away? And not direct them to LSU? So you deprive the young man who is obviously talented seeing what he and the team did at pylon tournament last year.

Just another asinine accusation. The families have paid their own way and have records of it. It's that simple. There aren't any sponsors involved so all of this is a moot point. You have your hands full over there my friend and that's where your attention should be focused. The Bootleggers will role with Alabama commits, Texas A&M commits, Tulane commits etc. like they always have once again. It doesn't matter where a kid goes to school. But a parent corrupting the process for the other kids and putting them in jeopardy will never be allowed.

If LSU chose Franks over Patterson, I'd rather have Patterson. When is the last time LSU had a QB worth a shite?

Eddie Fogler agrees ... he and Eddie Munster used to have massive shite-tossing contests about it. It was always Fogler's contention that Eddie Munster built his program around the AAU shenanigans and eventually Donovan ran him out of the profession obsessing over it.
