You know the guy who runs the team posts on here right? He realized Feleipe Franks was the far superior prospect and told Shea he just wasn't good enough, just like LSU's coaches.

Easy champ. It's not really spin at this point. Even some of the national guys moved Franks ahead of Patterson in the rankings. They're both really good though.

I'm not arguing this but the narrative that the LSU coaches picked Franks and didn't want Patterson is hysterical.

They didn't pick him like they're picking teams in gym class. They just knew they'd have to give Sean a legit position to keep him and they decided that wasn't worth it just to save face with Shea.

Not one logical person says LSU didn't want Patterson and the majority of LSU fans on this site know that. Quit acting like one or two posters are the voices of a fanbase.

I wasn't a basketball player so I can't get too specific but it's basically a league where all of the elite young basketball players play and it's reaaaaaally political and crooked from what I've heard. Lot of adults use it as an opportunity to give out "sponsorships" and try to steer kids to certain schools, etc.

There's no set roster. A team can play in a tournament and have 50 different players play in it, if they choose. Im pretty sure they can even go get another kid from an opposing team and have them play in the next game in the same tournament.

It's not just adults either... It is companies. Nike, Addidas, etc use it as a way to steer future pro athletes their direction.

Coaches have a big say on recruiting, however they don't seem to always have the kids well-being as a priority.

Apparently the LSU booster who sponsors the bootleggers 7 on 7 team has told the team that if Shea Patterson stays on the team he is pulling his sponsorship dollars. This 7 on 7 stuff is starting to smell like AAU hoops which is not good.

That really sucks for the kid BUT if you were an LSU booster...Would you want to fund an opportunity for an OM commit to recruit against you?

That's pretty interesting. I've heard a little bit about certain players decommitting from a school like Louisville because it's an Adidas school for example but I always thought that was a personal preference and not because the companies were actually getting involved
