I said it even before the interesting performance against BG today, but this has only made me feel worser about the game.

Said UF would lose this in the offseason, and I'm sticking to it.

Don't think it will be a clear win like many are projecting after today's game, but A&M will win by at least 7 IMO.

If UF can't run, the offense won't go anywhere next week.

best thread of the night.

No flames, no personal attacks and it's SEC related.

Nicely done. Though, best thread tonight, is not a hard achievement.

Didn't watch the game today, but was Florida just that bad? Are we talking hot seat for Muschamp bad if the gators struggle through this season like the game score indicates? AtM caught a bad break with their La Tech game getting postponed so at least Florida got a first game.

From what I saw the offense had a real hard time runnin the ball and the defensive secondary was having a hard time getting it together. However it is the first game of the season and I expect muschamp to fix those things. It should be a good game, even more so with the media hype now.

The penalties really killed any sort of offensive flow that UF had. It didn't help that UF WR's dropped 3 passes, and that Driskel missed two WIDE open passes on key 3rd downs.

As far as the defense goes, I thought BG's spread offense and tempo surprised our defense in the first Q, but they settled down nicely after that.

Now Muschamp... I don't get some of the decisions today:

1) going for TWO consecutive 4th downs, failing both, 1 leading to a BG touchdown

2) Hes not Spurrier. Rotating QB's like this is a recipe for disaster. Granted Driskel played the entire 2nd half, and looked much more composed than John Brantley ever did, but Muschamp still won't name a starter for next week.

Driskel gives this team the best chance to move the ball with his running ability.

3) Driskel pooch punt. I mean that was full of fail.

I'll say this: I think Muschamp gets another year regardless of who UF loses to this season. But if the team consistently produces that type of performance week in and out, I won't be surprised if Foley pulls the trigger.

it will be a good one...

Watched Florida today. Still don't have a QB IMO. Def has some very good players, but didn't look as dominant as people keep saying. They will be in trouble if they have to come from behind.

I'm guessing they will be much more motivated for this one than how they looked today.

I didn't see the game. How did we run for over 200 yards while having a real hard time runnin the ball?

The secondary gave up 223 yards passing. Not great, but not terrible.

What the hell happened in the game to make the stats seem worse than they actually were?

Driskel SHOULD be the QB. He gives the team the best chance to win.

I'm not worried at all about the defense. Least of UF's problems.

Most of BG's passing came in the 1st half. UF played a soft zone for most of the first half until the middle of the 2nd Q, when Quinn had the secondary playing press man coverage.

Why would anyone say we struggled to run the ball?

Neither QB is going to perform where you expect them...that's why I said you still don't have a QB...like last year

With today's win, I think one of the very few things Muschamp could have done to be on the hot seat (at least among anyone whose opinion matters) has been avoided. There seems to be this opinion that a coach deserves three years among athletic departments and coaches, so without something extremely excessive, I don't think you're going to see anyone fired after two for fear of looking too willing to throw a coach under the bus, hurting prospects for new hires. If today becomes the standard for the season, then he will be coaching for his job in 13.

I'm going to A&M next Saturday, and I am definitely nervous. I want to believe that they knew they could win today one way or another so they were just using this game to screw around with things to see what would happen before dealing with more serious talent. The key word there is want.

I do think Driskel looked worlds better today than last season. I can still remember being able to see his eyes like saucers from across the field last year when Bama spanked our arse. He actually looked hopeful at times today. However, worlds better than useless is not necessarily, particularly good. We shall see.

I wouldn't say Florida struggled to run the ball...probably should have been more dominant on the line against your competition today...that's the only area I would be critical of. I think Muschamp will play a conservative game plan all year and let the defense try and win games

What are we supposed to expect? The past 2 years have been shitty as far as the QB goes.

I went into the season with no expectations for either QB.

Bowling Green didn't respect our ability to throw, so they loaded the box. We stubbornly kept trying to run right into 8 man fronts and failed to pick up basically every 3rd and short all day. We had some success running in the 2nd quarter but BG made adjustments, and we tried to keep doing what we were doing with very little adjustments.

We should have made them pay with some play action, but we didn't. I don't know if it was cause our QBs are really struggling to throw the ball or if the coaches just didn't call the pass plays for some reason (probably a little of both). Muschamp was hoping we would just physically dominate them, but we didn't.

The big advantage UF has in this game is our great gift of choking in big games and making subpar QBs look like Heisman contenders.

I think it will be a tight game. Interested to see what line will be.

Wait, please link me to where any of fans not named reel gator expressed unrealistic expectations for either young QB.

You are putting words into our mouths or at least inferring we are expecting something we really aren't.

I expect them to have ups and downs and perform better than John Brantley. That's all I hope for. Just a bit of consistency and hit an open receiver (if one exists) every now and then.

UF fans have not talked shite or been overly optimistic about our O at all.

Hell, just not throwing three or four to the other team would be an awesome start vs. last year.
