LF7 Wins Heisman if Voters Watch Every Game!!

Probably should have won it last year but the voters tend to only watch a couple games a year and since the mulligan game national championship have focused in on the LSU/Bama game. LF7 has admittedly had a rough time with Bama (2014: 3.8 YPC and no receptions (along with that intentional targeting hit that should have been called on the kick return); and 2015: 1.6 YPC and no receptions). However, that's one frick'n game a year. If they watched every game he would be the clear choice, e.g.:
Sam Houston State: 124 Yards Running/Receiving
New Mexico State: 155 Yards Running/Receiving
Auburn State: 237 Yards Running/Receiving
Syracuse: 251 Yards Running/Receiving
Eastern Michigan: 233 Yards Running/Receiving
Western Kentucky: 152 Yards Running/Receiving
Texas Tech: 256 Yards Running/Receiving

voters better not watch them play Arkansas

The teams you listed are why LF7 did NOT win the Heisman last year. His best games came against the shittiest teams. Derrick Henry's best games were against the best teams.
Big time players step up in big time games. In the biggest game of the year, LF7 floundered while DH2 flourished.

wait..he should've won it last year?
Posted on 7/2/16 at 11:30 pm to Garfield
Yes, he is very good against teams significantly worse than LSU

Fournette is awesome against terrible defenses.

And to give some credit and discredit to Alabama at the same time.... Derrick Henry would not have run for even 50 yards if he was LSU's RB last year playing against Bama's front 7.

Must explain why he does so well against you guys, amarite?

I agree with this statement. No doubt in my mind that Fournette is a better RB than Henry. OP just presented a terrible argument.

I think he was the best back, but the most watched LSU game nationally was Alabama.
Henry stole the show
Fournette did get a lot of yards against weaker teams. He didn't play bad against anyone but bama though, and Henry had 3 more games of stats.
Common opponents: Bolded who looked more impressive IMO.
Fournette------Henry
UF
31-180-2------44-191-1
Ole Miss
25-108-0------23-107-1
Arkansas
19-91-1--------27-95-1
Mississippi State
28-159-3-------22-204-2
Auburn
19-228-3--------46-271-1
Texas A&M
32-159-1--------32-236-2
-yes Henry killed Fournette in their matchup
-yes OM/ARK/UF are basically a push, which would give Henry 2-1
-yes I took carries into account if yardage was close
-yes auburn is debatable, 27 more carries for 44 more yards and 2 less TDs I couldn't give Henry a win for
Henry: -----194-1104-8 5.7 YPC
Fournette: 154-925-10 6.0 YPC
Outside of Henry averaging a few more carries they preformed about the same, and we all saw who the more dominant team was along the line of scrimmage in the head to head.
And for anyone thinking miles only gave the ball to Fournette, in those games Fournette was 58% of LSUs RB carries vs 64% for Henry's at bama.
Im not claiming Henry shouldn't have won the heisman. Just shedding some light on the perception that Fournette only played well against shite teams. The above stats are for the only defenses they both played against.

If someone wants to sit here and say they would rather Derrick Henry on their team over LF than I won't take them serious in the future when it comes to sports.

You don't know if Henry couldn't do any better or worse. You're reaching.
And btw....You just agreed (and supported) with the posters comment about "stepping up" in a big game with your silly response.

For those arguing for Derrick Henry, how do you explain that in a year he set the total SEC single season rushing record he couldn't even break a 100 yards against the three following teams:
MTSU
Louisianian Monroe
Charlton Southern

Well... Our RB did more against WKU than LF did. Less touches, more rushing yards, more recieving yards, and 1 more touchdown.
Comparing stats is fun. But they dont tell the full story. He's a great athlete, maybe he can win it this year.

quote:my comment pretty much means that Fournette is better than Henry is almost every facet of the game and if they were on the same team, Fournette would get most of the carries and produce better. Plain and simple

I didn't even know tech had a football team until they declined their only bowl invite and Karl Malone got pissed

Derrick Henry didn't want to show off against teams Fournette regularly dominates.
