Lol...no he didn't.
Anyway, if Texas senses Herman may jump then they will can Strong and hire him.
Fedora would be a pretty good hire though.

LSU fans have treated Miles like crap for the last few years. No coach who values job security will be seeking employment with LSU.
I agree

What's his record since that last appearance?

Why would a coach go to ND when LSU can offer equal pay.
Go back and look at the contract they gave lardass in 2005...in 2016 dollars...and then come back and say that with a straight face.

Are you high? You actually think ND's recruiting base is the state of Indiana? Newsflash: ND's recruiting territory includes all of LSU's...and a helluva lot more.

Seriously? When did you start watching college football? You do realize, don't you, that ND has a conference affiliation for football with most of the advantages and none of the disadvantages.

Yeah, well, that's basically what the guy said. I was gonna ask him if he knew where Golden Tate was from, but then I realized that he'd probably never heard of him.

son, this is not the way this works. not even close. you're basically saying that Herman is Tejas' HC in waiting. even tho he works for U of H.
and they'll conveniently leave him in Houston until they "sense" he's interested in a different job.
and I thought the TigerRant had a monopoly on naivete'.

Texas notices whats going on in Houston just like everyone else does. You think for a second they wouldnt make a run at Herman if they think he's available, thus crushing an in state rival team while upgrading their own??

Van Gorder is looking for a job.
Aranada to HC. Van Gorder to DC. Rhett Lashlee to OC.
That's the ticket.

They will get a solid, but unspectacular, hire. And there will be wailing across the bayou.
This is probably how it will end up.

Their odds of getting a superior coach to Miles are very very low
LSU might not get Herman and they might not get a superior coach to the Miles of 2005-2013, but getting a superior coach to Miles right now is basically a given.
4-5 in his last 9 games (3-5 in last 8 regular season games) and 2-4 in last 6 SEC games with a top 5 talented roster that he can no longer coach up.
The man is getting older and the game has changed. He cannot adapt. He appears to have tried to and LSU has the 110th ranked offense or something with 9 returning offensive starters.
Literally ANY 40-45 year old head coach at a mid major who has had success could do better than THIS. The past is no longer relevant. Miles is done.
Anyone would be better than what is being produced right now. And, he cannot change. He's 62 and is stuck in the past. If he could have adapted, then fine. He can stay. But he can't or won't.

SECR Logic:
"LSU is declining" "They need to make a change"
Meanwhile, LSU decides to start making a change.
"Wow, I can't believe they'd actually fire a winning coach" "They won't do better than their already declining coach"
