Damn, I need to go back. I'm going to waste a tank of gas just driving around. The last time I was there, I think it only went to Byhalia. So it's now gone north of 40 and basically completed the loop?
I may drive with my Dad to WI in August for a wedding. I guess I know where we are stopping for the first night(whether he likes it or not)

The three schools with the year in, year out, highest attendance in college baseball would make sure Memphis successful as a host.

Man, I can't even imagine how cool that would be.

At least let them have it once every three or four years.

Its not like football. Every season, 10 schools go to the the baseball tournament, yet a very small portion of the fans ever get to attend.

Good luck. Memphis is the only city I would want to leave New Orleans for. This is home, but I will always consider myself a Memphian as well. And I lived in Richmond longer than either place.

If I don't have any luck in Memphis, my next attempt will be New Orleans. Those are the two cities I'm willing to leave my current job in Georgia for.

Exactly. It's closer for Arkansas and Ole Miss and LSU would be about the same. It's a bigger city too. I think they could easily sell more tickets. It wouldn't be that hard to put the Redbirds on the road for 2 series.
Would there be issues if the Grizz are still in the playoffs?

I have some really good friends in New Orleans that keep trying to get me to move down that way. Wouldn't have to worry about finding roommates.

I've been told about that hospital. I've also thought about Tulane Medical Center there.

Memphis and New Orleans is where most of my Ole Miss buddies live. Living out here in Georgia is good, but just isn't the same. I'd like to get back that way...whether it be in New Orleans or Memphis.

From what I have heard Oschner is the best hospital in the area. Luckily I haven't had first hand experience with any.(Baptist East ER in Memphis took for freaking ever. All I needed was drugs for the kidney stones moving around)

I'm currently looking into a Phlebotomy/Lab position at Baptist Memorial....right off I-240 in Memphis. I really can't do anything in terms of jobs until January 2014. I'll will have 2 years experience at that point...which is just like being certified. Then I can get a job any where I want. I didn't go to school for this. I got the job here and learned on the job.

But I'm starting to look around so I can be prepared when that time comes in January.

Is that near Ridgeway and Poplar?
You could live out in the nicer areas and still not be far from work.
And it never hurts to be prepared. I won't pretend to know what it is for a DR.(I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night)

It's right off Walnut Grove Rd. Figured I could live in Bartlett.

I'm about to start working on my Medical Technology degree so I can run the machines in the lab. For the time being, I'll be a Phlebotomist and work with that. My buddy who lives in Memphis says starting pay for that is around $18/hr. Here in Georgia, I'm making $10/hr....and that's only because I am the manager to the Front Office of the Lab and overlook customer service and logistics. I was making $8 before I was promoted back in February. Pay here SUCKS!!!

Is that it? I was making more than 8 an hour as a bartender on Bourbon St. And that didn't include tips

I was making $11//hr working at Aeropostale when I was in college. Yeah I work at the lowest paid hospital in the state of Georgia. I do way more than what my pay shows.

Yea, I don't blame you for looking at Memphis and NOLA. Not to mention much better places(biased). I wish I could help you out.

The state of Mississippi can not host a predeterminied NCAA tournament like a SEC tournament because of our state flag. Thats why Trustmark Park is out of the discussion until we get a new flag.

It is also too small to host.

Lets move this bitch to Memphis permanently.

There seems to be a lot of sentiment for Memphis. Does anyone think a bunch of e-mails to the SEC offices would help?
We have had fans from at least 5 different schools in this thread say Memphis

Probably not. But it would help if the SEC office actually listened to the fans.

Prolly right.

Would be nice, but then you get biased opinions like mine. I think New Orleans would be the best place for the SECCG and basketball tourney. I also would love the baseball tourney in Metairie. What city is better at hosting big events? I am also a little biased about AZ park hosting the baseball tourney.

Anywhere new for a change would be good. Hoover isn't a bad town, but changing up locations every now and then would be good for the tournament.

Why have the tourney in a place where people don't give a frick?

I think so too. Who doesn't get tired of the same old location. Only the most die-hards I would assume would go to any city every year. Also, Memphis and NOLA have a larger population base to draw from locally. I don't know about Memphis, but there would certainly be enough LSU fans to fill a good number of seats at Zephyr Field.
