Ah, the first of the three to four annual threads started by LSU fans about moving the SEC baseball tournament.
I laughed at your first option. There's zero parking and absolutely no RV parking in downtown Birmingham. Not to mention the stadium isn't all that big. Same with Memphis (parking) around their park. Tournament won't be there until they can figure that out.

Nice!
ETA: Looks like very low seating capacity, though.

How much does that park hold? Seems pretty small. Does look great though, but as someone else said hotels could be an issue that of year.

But Hoover is awesome, amirite?

Somehow they host baseball games there? The RV need is vastly overstated, IMO.

8,500? Average per session last year was 8,100.

The Grizzlies play in a 18,000 seat arena 3 blocks away...where's everyone parking for their games?

Only holds about 6,000...

Seats 5,038...one can dream though
Another possibility
Dr. Pepper ballpark in Frisco, TX
or even Corpus Chisti Whataburger Field

We all know why it's in Hoover, it has nothing to do with facilities or attendance.

How about Trustmark Park? Somewhat centrally located and a nice park
Doubt it's big enough, plus near Jackson.

Memphis is a great park but kind of a weird location.
Lol what?

Many, many great options, for sure.
Seems like a rotation would be fun and prosperous.

Corpus Christi is deffinetly to far out of the way. While I would prefer Metairie the most, due to being close by. Memphis would be the best. Great park, and centrally located. Ole Miss and Arky are closer. MSU is still close. LSU is prolly about the same distance and I guess the same for Vandy. Out of the schools who really care about baseball only USC has to go much further, but Memphis would be a much bigger airport.

To me, they should rotate it between the new regions in Bham (after the current contract @ Hoover runs out) and Autozone in Memphis.
Both of these venues would be good central locales with memphis being closer for the more western teams and vice-versa for Bham and the eastern teams.
Ive been to AZ many times and lemme tell ya, it would simply be an outstanding place to have the SECt. Beale would be rockin and rollin all day. If your team wasnt playing at the time you could go to the park or you could walk over to Beale to kill some time.
Yes, Hoover has plenty of parking, approcahes from the interstate, and RV parking but I feel like they could supplement that in Memphis. IMO the overall tradeoff would be fricking awesome.

I agree with your rotation except I would leave out Jacksonville and Gwinnett. I think it should rotate on a 3 year basis between Regions Field, AutoZone Park, and Zephyr Field.
I've been to Jacksonville several times (had family in the area for 10 years) and like the area but J'Ville is terribly inconvenient location wise and a huge haul for most of the conference. It's a fantastic area for golf but I'm sorry the area's beaches are horribly overrated.
The Gwinnett stadium has a sterile lifeless environment and is located in one of the most horrifically nightmarish traffic areas in the Southeast. The SEC softball tournament which is usually a big draw was a flop there.
I'm warming up to having a rotation with Regions Field, AutoZone, and Zephyr field. Regions Field has come off as a very cool venue, AutoZone speaks for itself, and Zephyr Field is still reasonably centrally located and the New Orleans area is always a great spot for an event. Make it happen SEC.

I agree, keep the rotation to 3 parks. I would even be fine with something like a 5 year rotation, where Zephyr is the odd man out for only getting it once per 5 years. Though like I have said, greedily I would prefer Zephyr every year since it is only about 15-20 minutes from my house. It is also about the same distance from The Quarter. Would still be some great eating in Memphis too.(I'm biased and think they have the BEST BBQ.)

Never been there. How far away is Interstae and Central. I know it is prolly 20+ minutes to The Commissary in Germantown, but I would end up out there either way.
