If your team wasnt playing at the time you could go to the park or you could walk over to Beale to kill some time.

This is the #1 reason I don't think you will see the SEC move the game to a "downtown" park with tons of attractions nearby. They want you in the seats whether your team is playing or not and they want you buying a $7 hamburger rather than walking accross the street for a rack of ribs.

It would take you about ten minutes to get to central BBQ and like you said probably thirty to get to the commissary.(it's also my favorite)

That actually makes some sense. Wonder if Zephyr Field is considered too close?

It is across the street from the Lorraine Motel on the southeast side. It opened a few months ago.

I would prolly end up staying at a hotel out that way around Germantown or Collierville to see old friends and maybe stop by GHS if Mr. Witherington is still teaching there.
Would love to go AZ park though. Heard great things about, and flying over, it looked great.

Damn, I haven't been back in 13 years, and knew they had a downtown location. Granted I was talking to the owner last year at French Market road food festival.

The hotels in East Memphis are really nice too. There's also some good restaurants down there as well

I'm never downtown to know really. Plus I'm closer to the original.

Yea I think I saw they have a hyatt place right where I would want to stay near winchester and hacks cross. I know I wouldn't recognize the area. I still think of the 2 lane country road headed to MS

It's still two lane but only for about a mile at Hacks and Holmes. Collierville/385 area is where you wouldn't recognize anything.

Holmes Rd. We used to have field parties out there all the time.

As for the OP, Memphis would be an excellent location, but I'm biased.

I'm sure. When I moved 385(Nonconnah?) was only open to Quince, and had made it to Byhalia last time I was there.
As for Central, I would prolly go to the original too, since I would have my car with me.

I'd love to see it rotated. Especially would like to see it in Memphis.

Another stadium I've always liked, just wouldn't work well in terms of travel is this one. Orlando is just too far to travel though.

Yea, Memphis would also prolly be one of the easiest to get to. I-55 or I-40 to reach by road, plus an airport that would prolly have non-stops to most airports in the SEC area. Though I'm not sure if that is still true with Delta taking the crew base away?

Memphis is a great park but kind of a weird location. Ole Miss is the closest team to there but that city is a Big East city now.

Memphis is not ruled by any one fan base. It's a culture diversity of Ole Miss, State, Alabama, UT, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn and Memphis fans. It's the perfect place, and makes Hoover look like a high school ball park. Plus downtown and midtown are great tourist attractions.
