UT saved UF from getting one broken off in them by Nebraska in '99. UF faced a team they had a chance to beat in Michigan State and they still pissed it away.

Maybe, maybe not. Just Saiyan, y'all always talk about getting "screwed" out of a BCS bowl in 01 when the same thing happened 2 year earlier.

That's right, because UF went to the NC. That futhers my point. Auburn beat UF's arse that year too. No way Auburn should not have been in a BCS game that year, even though we shite the bed against a terrible UGA team.

Karma.

Honestly, Oklahoma State should have played.

Thank God they didn't, I think they would have won. And that would have REALLY fricked up shite for Aggy.

They missed a quick hold. Happens on every play. is this really the "call" you've been talking about all this time?

The Bama mulligan team?
The LSU team that lost 2 games to Arkansas & Kentucky?

The long and short of it is this, both teams had questionable paths to the championship game, but both teams actually won the game to take the championship. People seem to forget that the title wasn't simply awarded, it was won on the field.

Oklahoma was the real pretender of the BCS era - 4 appearances with a .250 record. That's the worst record for any team with more than 1 appearance.

If you have first and goal from the 2 in double OT and you can't punch it in, you don't deserve to hold the crystal.

No matter what is said about the interference (even though it was the absolute right call), Miami should have taken care of business if they were so good.

No. You should actually watch the game though.

People look at this debate from the wrong angle. LSU was a lock, they were in the game no matter what, so any debates btwn bama/lsu are completely irrelevant. The debate was who LSU would play, the the choices were either bama or osu.

Bama played a tougher schedule and their only loss was in OT to the best team in the country. OSU's was to a lousy iowa state. I can see why bama going is justifiable.

With that said, I woudl have personally rather seen OSU go, but it doesn't bend me out of shape that bama did go because they have a valid argument.

Forgive me if I take a Buckeye opinion with a grain of salt. It's widely considered a terrible call outside of Ohio. There was no pass interference, the game was over, then an idiot decided to do something dramatic.

I don't know why I should be so surprised to see an Obscured by Clouds reference from a poster with your avatar.

But it really took me by surprise - especially recognizing it after it's been some 30 years since hearing it.

to you, sir.

And, coincidentally, just about two weeks ago I ran into an Ummagumma reference, Grandchester Meadows. It's a sign, I'm gonna have to get a new belt for the old turntable and spin 'em up.

Yep...I know...still, that '99 Nebraska team was damn good...A fumble on the goal line against Texas cost them an undefeated season that year. Tennessee was lucky to keep it to 10 points against them. Freakin Crouch and the wishbone.

back atcha!

I love that song, and that album actually. Very underrated, it never seems to get talked about all that much but it's one of my faves.

Okie State's offensive scheme was to spread you out and "out-athlete" opponents in space. That would have earned them a beatdown by that LSU team.

Which programs made BCS bowl appearances?

I know LSU, Bama, Auburn, Florida, UGA, Tennessee, Arkansas. Am I missing someone?
