You're right. The call at the end of regulation was worse.

Don't forget the refs not once, but twice gave OSU favorable calls against a bad illinois team that they got lucky to win. They also needed a 4th down play they themselves dubbed "holy buckeye" to beat a putrid purdue team.
In the question of "most deserving" they wouldn't qualify, because they did "deserve" to go based on being one of only 2 major unbeatens. But they damn sure weren't the best team that year.

Guess y'all shouldn't have lost to the Zooker.

Honestly, Oklahoma State should have played. That would have been less egregious than LSU playing a team from their own division that they already beat.

Also...this came as a little bit of a surprise to me given that the 2000s were glory years for them
Guess you weren't around for the 80s

Auburn only had 3 BCS appearances. It's not so bad because 2 of the appearances were BCSNC games, but I'm surprised AU only made 1 non-championship BCS bowl
Should have went to the Fiesta Bowl in 2006 instead of LSU, especially since we beat dat arse that year and had the same record. It's a popularity contest, not who's most deserving...figured you gumps would know that by now.

I wasn't even talking about UGA in my post
Posted on 4/10/15 at 12:47 pm to WG_Dawg
And he was only talking about the title game and not multiple calls in the regular season.

1. LSU was in the Sugar.
2. Sucks, but it's happened before. UT went to the Fiesta in 99 over us and we returned the favor in 01.

He was talking about that team being undeserving. I was agreeing with his statement by giving further information about that team in that season.
Posted on 4/10/15 at 12:50 pm to WG_Dawg
And I gave further information that it wouldn't have mattered if y'all had beaten the Zooker.

travis daniels was in bounds with the fumble recover so Auburn didn't go undefeated that year.

LSU fans with excuses for everything.

LSU was in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame. It was the 2006 season. Auburn went on to play a top 10 Nebraska team in the Cotton Bowl (another slobber knocker game). I miss those Auburn defenses.

LSU/Notre Dame was the Sugar. Boise State/Oklahoma was the Fiesta.

That's right, because UF went to the NC. That futhers my point. Auburn beat UF's arse that year too. No way Auburn should not have been in a BCS game that year, even though we shite the bed against a terrible UGA team.

Caught the ball in bounds and got held not once, but twice...so 3 bad calls on one play
OSU deserving

Not only was the call wrong but the refs somehow missed this:

UT saved UF from getting one broken off in them by Nebraska in '99. UF faced a team they had a chance to beat in Michigan State and they still pissed it away.
You're welcome...
