You might be right. Bama - OSU would have been a much better game.

As stated many times, LSU wouldn't have had to throw a single pass to win that game by a wide margin.

But the least deserving team was 2003 LSU.

It should have been LSU and USC in the championship no questions asked. How can you say that we were less deserving than an Oklahoma team who was blown out the water in the big 12 championship game?

Indeed. We would have seen something along the lines of what we saw in the national title game this past year. LSU would have eventually run away with it.

Really is stupid how many teams got in without winning their conference. What was the point of conference championship games if the BCS was just going to ignore them

Yeah win your conference and... oh wait
Win your division and.... oh wait

Face it Bama got put in game over Okie State based on name recognition, not caused they earned it

Was it a requirement under the BCS to win your conference and/or division?

By letter, it wasnt. By spirit, it was. Citing previously mentioned examples of 2006 UF/Mich, 2007 LSU/UGA.

Other than Oklahoma in 2003, every team before or after 2011 Alabama has won at least a share of their conference title.

And the outcry against Oklahoma was so great that year that USC was awarded a National Title that year without having played in the actual championship game.

Voters wanted a playoff. They wanted chaos to expedite that goal. And they succeeded in both regards.

Guess OK St shouldn't have lost to a 6-6 team.

Why should that carry any more weight than beating #13 Oklahoma by a score of 44-10 and winning the Big 12?

You're gonna tell me you wouldn't be pissed if an 11-1 SEC Champ gets held out of the BCSNC for a team that didn't win their division and had already lost to the #1?

The BCS was completely vindicated. They obviously got it right.

And Alabama beat up Arkansas, who was better than Oklahoma.

While potentially true, don't we learn our lesson every year during bowl games that teams often fix problem areas in prep time?

It's impossible for anyone to know what would hypothetically happen in a game.

Alabama (11-1)
#6 Arkansas (only lost to #1 and #2 on the road)
#22 Penn State (was 8-1 and #12 before Sanduskygate)
#25 Auburn (same as Texas)
loss was to #1

Oklahoma State (11-1)
#8 Kansas State (their other loss was by 41 points to #14 Oklahoma @ home)
#14 Oklahoma (lost to 5-7 Texas Tech @ home)
#24 Texas (same as Auburn)
loss was to a 6-6 team

Both teams had an argument. Neither one got "screwed." Y'all are just mad because OSU would've been an easier opponent than a rematch against a very similiar team.

As much as I hate the idea of a retarded selection committee, the BCS needed to go for this exact reason. It was truly maddening and more often than not, a school with a legitimate claim was left home. Auburn still bitches about 2004 and 7 years from now, LSU will still bitch about 2011.

With a few tweaks the playoff will be perfect. In hindsight, maybe TCU should have got in over OSU, but OSU won it all and there was no doubt about the Top 3.

In hindsight there is no way TCU belonged there. TCU didn't have one good win the entire year after bowl games ended. OSU had beaten (without bowl games), top 10 Michigan State @MSU and a top 15 Wisconsin team by 60 at a neutral site. TCU's best win was over #18 KSU at home

TCU also didn't have nearly as bad of a loss as a 7-6 VT team. With the way they destroyed Ole Miss, TCU may have beaten Oregon and Alabama, same as OSU did.
