I don't think it's being unreasonable to imply they didn't give their best effort. But it's impossible to say what would've happened, had they played in the regular season. That QB clearly gave them fits.

your 2008 team was coming off a 7-6 season. That team was not championship or bust. They played out of their arse all year before running into a much better and experienced Florida team. That team hadn't sniffed a big bowl game in 10 years. If the players on that team couldn't find anything to play for against Utah in the Sugar Bowl after back-to-back Independence Bowls, then there's something wrong with them. Most of the players on that team were infants the last time Alabama had been a dominant program. They can't use the "we're Bama, we don't care about non-championship games" excuse.

Furthermore, you, as a fan, saying you didn't care is a load of horse shite too. At that time, you didn't know Saban was going to go on a run like he has. Scoffing at a BCS Bowl, something you hadn't seen since 1999, is just arrogant nonsense and a huge misrepresentation of the truth.

Would CK suddenly be able to block OU's DEs?

No excuses...Oklahoma was better than us that day...

In the Capital One Bowl, after the 2010 season, we didn't have a problem gettin' motivated for Michigan State...and after the SEC comments made by Stoops all season, we shouldn't have had a problem gettin' up for OU either...

And while we have a storied history, from Bear's last season through Saban's 2nd year, except for a brief respite under Stallings, "silly" bowl games were the norm and not the exception...

Please never stahp Larry.

I agree. bama should have crushed OU. bama just wasn't motivated. The problem with bama was............Auburn beat bama the last two games of your season.

your team got it's colon kicked in by Bob Stoops

Teams who are supposed to be great, have pride, they don't get on their knees and ask for the dry fisting.

You are proably correct. Stoops used Auburn's gameplan and showed the weakness of Bama's Defense. He would not have had that model in the regular season. How many teams teams this year will try that same strategy ?
