I recall seeing all the Bama comments here mentioning how angry they were and how they would punish Oklahoma badly over the two previous losses to OU.

Oklahoma's tradition is too much for Bama's fictional national titles and lack of Heismans. Bama is 0-4 all time against OU and all of the Sooners' championships actually count, unlike Alabama's. I think Bama fans have been bitter at OU since Bear Bryant once admitted in the '70s he was scared to play Oklahoma in those days and Oklahoma fans even made bumper stickers with the Bryant quote on them at that time

I don't know if UA would have beaten OU or not. I do agree - that the game was meaningless to UA. Therefore, I would tend to side with the OP on this one. I've never understood why preseason polls put any emphasis on bowl games. There are only a couple of games that players and coaches are going balls out to win. Its usually a prep for next season and a time to enjoy the spoils of getting to a bowl.

It was the same situation as the Utah game. It's hard for a team to get motivated for a silly bowl when your main goal was Championship or bust. Especially when Bowl games don't really mean much to a program that has as much history as Bama does.

Y'all embarrassed the conference and now you need the rest of us to tell you it's ok, alright it's ok, you're still Slamma Bamma, you'll get'm next time.

Only problem was Bama didn't face them during the regular season and met them in bowl game where they got smacked.

Lets be honest. Bama would have beaten Oklahoma during the regular season Bama and McCarron lost to a FRESHMAN QB with no experience! Bama was plenty motivated after losing both home and home matchups against Stoops' Sooners a few years ago. AJ said before the game that they had a chance to go out and prove that they were still the best team in the nation and have everyone talking about them more than the national championship team.

Bama came out looking awesome to start the game and took the lead fast. They didn't come out flat. OU just had staying power. It wasn't like Bama was playing Utah - everybody loves beating OU under any circumstance.

Teams are usually intimidated by bama... Obviously oklahoma wasn't and when bama drove the ball down their throat on the first drive everyone, including myself, thought it was going to be a blowout... When teams respond and keep it close bama will usually fold...

It's funny to hear Auburn fans come out to support their fellow statesmen over non-conference teams that embarrass their big brother.

Auburn is still pissed about the undefeated season when they were cockblocked from playing USC in the championship due to Oklahoma getting the nod.

Reality check. Oklahoma's history and prestigious tradition trumps that of Bama's mythical championship collection and OU is 4-0 all time against the Tide. Bear Bryant was intimidated by OU in his heyday and even confessed in an interview by saying he was scared to play OU back in the '70s.

Congratulations. It's tough to out-idiot the OP in this thread, but you've done it. Props to you, sir.

BS. Bama's record is 1-3-1 all time against OU...not stellar but not what you've represented...

Bear was 1-0-1 against OU (while coaching Bama) and stomped 'em in the '63 Sugar Bowl 17-0...and while he was coaching Kentucky, he upset #1 Oklahoma in the 1951 Sugar Bowl...so his record against OU was 2-0-1, not a bad record against a school he was scared of...

And as for OU's tradition trumping Bama's mythical championships...OU claims the '50 National Championship even though Kentucky whupped 'em in the bowl game...so looks like OU claims mythical championships just like Bama, huh?

Its a shame that Bama is paying $7,000,0000 a year to a coach who can't even motivate his players to get off their asses and try to win every game on their schedule. I guess that's why Saban threw those players under the bus. He's got 7 million reasons to look out for number one.

Dumb thread. I do agree with you, but not smart to make this thread. We got beat. We lost 2 games last year. Most teams would kill to lose 2 games, we did and everyone thinks we sucked, yet we beat everyone but 3 teams arse last year. New year, New OC, new QB, NEW CORNERBACKS
Cant wait for the season!

Well, I would say the new year and new cornerbacks are good things, but since Kiffin and an inexperienced Coker come with the new year, I'll say 3/4 of the things listed are not positive. The new corners should help though.
