This is the problem IMO. LSU fans are the first to bash Miles, but any logical person has the reasoning ability to recognize, and respect, what he has accomplished as a head coach.

The mississippi meltdown has a lot to do with it

Nah. More like my fellow Tigers LOVE to bitch. It really is that simple. Until LSU is winning the NC in every sport, every year, some of the fans will not be happy.

The mississippi meltdown in 09 really fueled the fire for people to legitimately wanting him fired. 21-0 made him unforgivable for a lot of folks afterwards. Dude is a great coach though

He brought it on himself by being so loyal to JJ

Don't get me wrong, I was PLENTY mad about both of these game (Paid $500 for a ticket in 2011). I also realize that the program is in a position that it has never been before and that is 100% due to Les Miles. He has, arguably, the best OC/DC duo in the country and just brought in the best recruiting class that LSU has ever seen, and, IMO, one of the best ever as far as filling needs.

I also like to think I'm MUCH more rational that 95% of LSU fans so TIFWIW.

LSU sucked and Louisiana's best recruits went out of state. Saban is a great coach and made LSU and elite destination program.

Saban is a great coach.

One of the great mysteries of our time.

Honestly it's amazing we somehow managed to average 10 wins a year during the JJ/JL era.

The fences around Louisiana recruiting were already being put up before Saban arrived. He helped build up the program but it's not like he walked into mess. Saban is a great coach but it also takes a great coach (Miles) to sustain that kind of success.

That's the best defense LSU has ever had which is incredible in and of itself. Also outside of QB the offense was loaded too.

I don't think I've ever seen an opposing fan, other than Bama fans, acknowledge this (Assuming you're talking about 2011. That unit was special.). +1 to you fella.

Just FYI the 2015 and 2016 LSU defense is in a position to be similar to 2011, as far as talent at least. That squad was special, though, and I'm not sure any LSU D will live up to it.

Saban is a great coach.
Saban may be a great coach, but he only created the potential LSU could reach. Other than the BCS title, his LSU teams finished at or below 10th in the rankings. He never ran off a string of seasons like Les has here; he's done that at Alabama (which most people agree, it's an easier place to do it at if you have the ability).

Les would be at least as good at Alabama as Saban, I suspect. And a hell of a lot easier to deal with.

Yes 2011. I don't think that the future tigers can hope to match that production unless y'all's LB corps steps up big time.

This is ridiculous. Saban is the best coach in college, but sustaining success is almost as tough as building a program from scratch. Miles deserves more credit than he will ever get, but with the volatility of LSU fans he's going to be bashed no matter what.

2015 and 2016 will be interesting. The LB corps is probably the best that LSU has ever had the the backfield is absolutely filled with talent. Rashard Robinson is a name to remember because he's going to be an absolute stud and Tre White is no slouch.
