Agree didnt look very elusive did he....
Time will tell.
My take: He would get the ball and job a few steps looking for something and then accelerate past everyone in high school almost like toying. Well you cant do that in college boy.

When will Georgia ever amount to anything and win a NC or even an SEC title

I saw multiple defenders keying on Fournette every time he was in the game. Keep that up and Jennings will and the recievers will score plenty of points.

It could have to do with Wisconsin running a 3-4 defense. I don't imagine too many HS's run a 3-4 defense. Fournette will be a freak, may take him a a game, two games, a month, half the season, etc...doesn't matter, because once he gets the feel, it's go time.
Took Nkemdiche half of last season and then he flipped the switch and hasn't looked back. Undoubtedly, had the best performance in the country at DT in Week 1.
Kinda want Fournette to be in stride for the OM/LSU game to see him go up against our defense...but also wouldn't mind him waiting until November to go off.

He has vision... vision isnt his issue.
He needs to be patient and let the holes open up for him. In high school he didnt have to be patient, he just took the ball and was gone. Didnt matter where he went he was that dominant.
But Im sure he was amped up on a level hes never been before and had some serious adrenaline pumping. And he would just get the ball and go instead of slowing it down a notch and letting his blockers develop holes for him. But our OL didnt really help him that much.
Hes gonna get a lot of PT these next few weeks and should rapidly progess. His mistakes are easily corrected. Thats the best part. Once he settles down and lets the game come to him, he will be a monster. Because his talent, size, burst, and everything that makes him great was still pretty obvious.
Give him more than 1 game, where he only had 8 carries, against a good Wisky team in the season opener.... before people start thinking hes gonna struggle the entire year and almost write him off as a bust already... By the time the SEC season is in full swing, LF will be ready and will be a stud.

Let's see what you have to say after a few more rushes/games. I was at the game and he made a conscious effort to force contact - especially on kickoffs. He didn't care to try and run around anyone. Maybe he'll use his speed and "vision" next game. I'm sure he will get some quality coaching using your links as good learning tools. Thanks for the insightful video.

I agree he looked a bit stiff on his first few kick off returns. He is a physical running back, you saw some glimpses of his speed and agility. But, he is a freshmen and made freshmen mistakes.
Also, I think its unfair to compare him to other freshmen. LSU is much younger, especially at the skill positions and much less experience than any of the others mentioned in this thread including Yeldon. Most of what LF got for runs was into a 9 man box and still made positive yards. By time Wisky loosened up, Hilliard was getting the carries because of the LF botched pitch. Miles has been very consistent over the years, you fumble, you sit.

WE will see how his vision is when he runs all over your still crappy defense. And yes I said still crappy.
One playa does not make a great defense.

I believe the jury is still out. I would like to see what he does In a single back set. When our stubborn arse coaches went to one back sets we averaged over 7 yds per carry. We only averaged 2.6 yds in two back sets. Unfortunately most of LF's carries came in 2 back sets with 8 in the box and backers keying on him.

He's a truefrosh playing in his first game for LSU. WTF did you expect?
Posted on 9/2/14 at 5:14 pm to demosa
It was his first collegiate game numb nuts.
Posted on 9/2/14 at 5:15 pm to RT1941
Not everybody is gonna be like a Yeldon and break off 100+ in their first game as a true frosh against a top 15 D. Skynyrd will b fine.

bookmarked and will come back to this thread every week until the TAMU game where he runs for 200 yards and 3 TDs on that BS defense.
