And you still had Sony Michel and Keith Marshall even after the loss of Chubb. Georgia had the deepest stable of backs in the conference last year, or so I thought.

While Sony is certainly a good back, he's no Chubb. That's been pretty clear over the last two seasons. Marshall was NEVER the same after his injury at Neyland in '13. Those guys aren't even a reasonable comparison to Chubb. Sorry.

I'm still not sure what this has to do with Josh Dobbs putting up 450 yards of offense and 5 touchdowns on your defense tho.

What part of keeping the ball out of Dobbs' hands do you not get? No one is arguing that Sloth isn't a great player in his own right; however, his touches could have been significantly limited if our offense hadn't sputtered around without its anchor.

I wasn't aware that Neyland's turf gives VOLS some sort of advantage but please continue

While Chubb and Marshall were contact injuries, one only has to look at Justin Scott Wesley, Michael Bennett, etc to see how it gives you an advantage.

Is it a different team that puts Ga uni's on and plays in the spring game? You know, instead of the team that has been practicing all spring long?

I still don't know how that game happened. When we played Tennessee, Dobbs seemed lost and unable to complete a pass longer than 15 feet against OUR defense. WTF?

The spring game is a show put on for the fans, not an actual barometer of future potential.

Is the offense bad, or is the defense good? Who knows?

It represents 1/15 or so of spring practices, and is probably the least productive of them from a purely football perspective.

Tennessee ran 90 plays that day. Your defense had no answer for Dobbs and could not get Tennessee's offense off the field. Michel ran 22 times for 145 yards. Give me a damn break on this Chubb shite. He's an phenomenal player but Sony had an awesome game that day. Isn't the point of the HUNH spread to wear down the defense until they finally break late? Sounds like that's exactly what Tennessee did to Georgia.

Also, RA'd for making fun of a college kid with a rare disease he was born with.

Sounds like bad luck. Tennessee players were playing on the same turf that day.

People that talk shite about our turf (which I admit isn't the best in the world currently) don't realize that we play on that same turf more than anyone else. but we've stayed relatively free from major injuries. Well except when one of UGAs lineman dove at one of our players ankles from behind.

Also don't see the reason why Kirby didn't just take the compliment and move on. Not a big deal or anything , just interesting. Tempering expectations? CBJ did that a lot his first couple years

He was laughing. And I can't really blame him. Why in the world would Butch say UGA is a good looking team when he hasn't even seen them? talk about coming off like a clown.

Well...if you played against the team the year before and know who is returning...and if you recruited most of the players who signed with Georgia in the '16 recruiting class...and you recruited most of the players that Georgia red-shirted last season....I think you would have a pretty good idea of how good they could be.

No. You don't. Auburn was picked to win the West last year. Ohio State was picked to win the National Championship last year. See why it is dumb to make statements about teams when you haven't seen them?

Kirby Smart... the poor man's Will Muschamp. Figured I might just skip football this year since Malzahn has gone all Mr. Coach Klein on us but this season may not be a total loss. At least there should be some comic relief.

Malzahn is coaching Auburn. Muschamp is not Auburn's DC anymore. Lashlee is still the OC at Auburn.

You're right. there will be more than enough comic relief on the field.

And by a ton of coaches. however, those predictions were based on returning players, red shirt players the year before, etc.......you know, the same criteria you claimed Butch based his comments on?

I didn't claim anything bud. But I get what youre saying, and im sure Butch was just responding with a generic response. But like another poster mentioned earlier, Buch most likely has a pretty good idea of what Kirbys working with by virtue of being border states, division rivals, and shared recruiting grounds. And UGA has recruited at a consistently high level recently, you don't have a team void of talent and could end up having a pretty good season. Just don't understand why he just didn't take the compliment and move on like most normal people. Yall sure are fired up about this.

Probably our worst game of the season. Still scratching my head on where Dobbs disappeared to in that game
