Something about the way Hurts moves and throws it always looks like it's going to be right on point and when it ends up horribly inaccurate I'm like wtf? He is the best looking bad passer I've ever seen.

Don't get me wrong here but for some reason he seems a little to laid back and I could be reading that wrong.
Just saying, I wish he had a little more fire in those eyes.
But maybe it's this...

So we formed ourselves into tight groups…the idea was, the shark comes to the nearest man and he starts poundin' and hollerin' and screamin'. ... Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya, right into your eyes. Y'know, the thing about a shark, he's got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes.

Losing that d line and cam robinson... I'd be so beyond thrilled if he went 2 out of 3. Just 1 and I'd be a grateful gump. Nothing so far has shown me he can straight up carry a team by himself though. Luckily we don't ask that.

That's one of the things I love about Saban's process and preparation ~ he doesn't put the full load on any one player. He doesn't ask one player to carry the team all by himself.

Hurts just turned 18 a few weeks ago. He is leading the reigning championship team in his first year of college ball. He has held his composure in Dallas/Oxford/Fayettville/Knoxville/Baton Rouge. Those are/were some of the most hostile college crowds he will ever face and the team came out with wins in them all. He's done a damn good job thus far and I never thought I'd ever see Nick Saban trust a truefrosh enough to hand them the offense.

That kid is a damn good athlete and QB. I was very impressed with how he handled playing in TS as a true freshman...he didn't have to do alot, but did what was asked of him by Kiffin and Saban and the kid came in and got a huge W. Hats off to Jalen and Bama. Great game!

It really sucks knowing he'll be there for another 2-3 yrs...

Not yet, but we still have some time. He does show improvement. Faced down a beast of a D on Saturday and had to overcome bad play calling. His game management and composure are there for the most part.

He is certainly getting big stage experience ( thanks everyone) and that can't hurt...no pun intended.

Hurts is good enough right now to lead this team to a title if he can just improve slightly in the passing game.

By next year, I expect him to be one of the best duel-threat guys in the country. He does't have to be Tom Brady, he just has to improve to average as a passer. If he can get to the Jake Coker/Greg McElroy level as a passer, our offense will be a machine.

Call me crazy, but he is very close to this level.

A counter argument to your argument that a barely 18 year true freshman has possibly reached his ceiling as a passer in his first season playing college football? Besides the fact that plenty of counter arguments have been made against your absurd opinion, a counter argument seems useless to someone who has such an absurd opinion.

He's not great with long passes, but he is accurate enough that this is a bad idea. Did not see it Saturday night.

He completed all three of his down field passes he threw Saturday night. Granted one of the completions was to the wrong team, but....

I didn't say he had reached his ceiling. I said I doubt he's ever a great passer. I hope he proves me wrong. But your argument of "Nah uh! You're dumb!" doesn't do much to change my mind.

My argument is that to think that a true freshman QB starting in the SEC won't get better is stupid, considering at how much most QBs in general improve from year to year with more and more experience. There is just no logical reason to think that he won't become a better passer.

Barnett was a much better passer and could run pretty well, but he left when Hurts was named the starter.

We have Tua coming in next year along with another QB. Tua is a dual threat QB.

Wouldn't be surprised to see CNS snag a few graduate transfers at different positions either.

Watching them both play. Barnett almost always hit the receivers in stride and got rid of the ball quickly. He also transitioned between receivers better and did not lock onto one guy.

Barnett's passer rating when he left was 189.45. Hurts rating right now is 135.77. Barnett never threw a pick and Hurts has 6, but Barnett only played in 3 games.
