I for one, am impressed with Hurts athletic ability and poise. But for all the Bama fans, do you believe his play is good enough for the three peat?

Its next to impossible to three peat no matter who you have as QB

Tough but doable. He doesn't have to play lights out for us to win. I'd love for him to be able to sling it around like McCarron but I love the kid's composure and leadership.

At the moment? No.

But I have high expectations for his downfield game come next year. If he can get the timing and reads down, our offense will be close to indefensible.

Before the season, I thought we should sacrifice 2 or 3 games to get Hurts experience. That way we would have a much better shot at winning his soph and jr seasons. I thought there was no way he could do as well as he is.

I am changing my tune. I think we win it with him this year

With both his long runs, LSU allowed the middle to be wide open. Hurts rolled out and it was open ground in the middle of the field. He is going to have to show teams he can pass, otherwise they will just stay at home and take their chances on tackling him.

Sure. He is more athletic than most other WBs we have had under Saban. He will mature in his passing abilities as the years go on. I think we have won NC's under Saban as a team not with a player.

The kid came in and played pretty good. We hit him and confused him with different coverages. He finally got some open space and did his thing. He kept his composure in a tough place to do that.

He's not great with long passes, but he is accurate enough that this is a bad idea.

Bama fans think he sucks because he not reading defenses like Peyton Manning, and slinging it like Brett Favre as an 18 y.o. true freshman.

Since Bama didn't win the national title in 2014, I'm assuming you're talking about a third consecutive SEC title. In that case, the answer is an easy YES.

This isn't true at all. However, we have one of the most talented receiver groups we have ever had. They are not being utilized as they should, and that is largely due to Jalen's shortcomings in the passing game.

I think he means win it next year for the national title.

If so, I think the problem well be losing too much on defense. We are going to lose a lot. Talent is there, but experience won't be.

I think Hurts has a good arm, he just needs to work on timing and touch. He's a freshmen that's just began scratching the surface of his potential.

the fact that Hurts is only a freshman scares the frick out of me

I don't think he will ever be a legit passer, but it is so goddamn hard to contain an athletic QB for 4 straight quarters

you are going to have a few breakdowns on busted plays that result in big plays

Whether or not it is possible next year heavily depends on the assimilation of new defensive starters (they probably be won't be all-world, but this is still going to be a top 10 Saban defense), and whether or not our vertical passing game develops well enough.

It may be that we will be equipped with an offense that can win shoot-outs that the defense simply can't stop in some cases, and a defense that can neutralize all but the most talented and schematically designed offenses.

The defense is good enough for Alabama to have a legit chance to win it all this year despite Hurts' struggles in the passing game.

Next year, the defense will lose a lot. Even more than usual. Next year might be the offense's turn to carry more of the load. If so, Hurts will have to get better.

Will be interesting to see his improvement from Freshman to Sophomore. For some QBs it is just game experience/knowledge holding them back. For some QBs it never clicks and they stay pretty much the same guy. We'll see.

Three peat of what? If you mean winning the title this season and again next season to make it a three peat, then yes I believe he is good enough.

I will take 2 peat to start. He gonna have to improve a lot to carry a weakened D next year.
