Barnett threw a total of 19 passes against overmatched competition and one team that had pretty much conceded the game. I don't think any definitive conclusion can be made from that.

Do you believe we'd be running the same pass plays if Barnett was the QB?

Barnett almost always hit the receivers in stride and got rid of the ball quickly. He also transitioned between receivers better and did not lock onto one guy.

Barnett's passer rating when he left was 189.45. Hurts rating right now is 135.77. Barnett never threw a pick and Hurts has 6, but Barnett only played in 3 games.

Barnett played garbage time in 3 games. The sample sizes are virtually incomparable, therefore your claim is not a fact, not even close.

I for one, am impressed with Hurts athletic ability and poise. But for all the Bama fans, do you believe his play is good enough for the three peat?
If we win this year, it'll be a team effort for sure. I think Hurts has a high enough ceiling to be a superstar, but I don't think he's come close to tapping into his true potential in his freshman campaign.

Honestly, no. Teams will follow your defensive game plan now though the talent isn't anywhere near your level. We have no downfield passing game To speak of. Stranger things have happened though. I like our future with him at QB.

He has work to do on his accuracy. Most impressive thing about him to me is his poise though. 18 year old kid and Tiger Stadium did not rattle him a bit. That's saying something. He made mistakes in the game but it wasn't his nerves. Kid was calm, cool, and collected all game

No, players much better than him couldn't 3 peat but it's more than the qb anyway.
As far quarterbacking with enough efficiency to win it,
Our best chance at a 3 peat was with aj mccarron. He was the best pure quarterback this side of namath that Alabama has ever had.

He completed all three of his down field passes he threw Saturday night. Granted one of the completions was to the wrong team, but....

I think they just didn't want him to lose the game with turnovers. With the mismatch with our front seven he needed to just manage the game in this one.

Barnett is a horrible runner and slow to boot. People actually thought he was a dual threat he isn't. Sorry.
