I know 100 is some magic # for some people, but he had 28 carries vs UF. What half way decent back wouldn't get to 100?

He is probably the best blocking RB in college football, but the shoulder issues and lack of big play ability will hurt him. Will probably be a 2nd day guy though.

Very good college RB, especially with Kamara complimenting him.

Other than Fournette I would not trade him for anyone.

I'd trade Kamara for Fournette but not Hurd. What Hurd does in punishing defenders and in blocking/pass pro can't be reproduced by Fournette and our OL has been weak. If we had a better OL then I might take Fournette over Hurd but Hurd has been exactly what we've needed from a team perspective and has qualities that can't be replaced.

Maybe he can play fullback then?

NFL teams aren't drafting guys in the 1st round who rarely breaks runs over 20 yards. And I think Hurd is a really good player.

They weren't so much terrible but young. We started two true freshman on the line last year. They will have another year of maturing but I should have worded that better.

Dobbs is a glorified RB so teams are likely stacking the box, which limits Hurd.

I think Hurd played much better last year as compared to 2014 - there is some legit upside and a high ceiling if he can flash more quickness next year.

Fournette is a much better RB than Hurd

At the risk of sounding like a homer, this isn't even remotely true. Vols fan would be drooling over themselves to replace either with Fournette.

And, again, I like him a lot. He's a really good player. The only guys who get drafted in the 1st round at that position are freaks like Gurley and Fournette.

I see him rushing for north of 1500 next year and being a 1st round draft pick.

I could possibly see 1500 next year, depending on what kind of touches Dobbs and Kamara get.

I do not see him being a very good NFL back. It seems like the NFL is moving to smaller, shiftier backs. I could see him possibly being a Brandon Jacobs/Michael Bush type RB. (full disclosure, I don't see Derrick Henry doing too well at the next level either)

In a normal situation you're probably right but I don't think you grasp how bad our OL has been. Fournette wouldn't be getting great numbers with our OL and he would very like not do as well blocking.

If we had some of our great lines of old, I'd be all over Fournette. FWIW, I'm not saying Hurd is the better runner (he's not) but he is what we need.

Hurd will be the 3rd or 4th best back in the SEC next year. That's not a slight, there are just some very good backs in the conference.

He will be a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick.

I agree and again he's not just good at running, he does everything well. The way he can catch the ball out of the backfield and pick up blitzes, etc make him special imo.

Dobbs running ability is why Hurd gets most of his yards dipshite...

PFF grades take in to account pass pro (where Hurd is #1) and Fournette is still much better overall. Fournette is a top 2 returning RB in college football. Hurd is around 15 based on all the data.

Obviously Hurd does a really good job blocking but looking at the entire body of work it's really not close.

He'll be fine.

I never guarantee anything but imo he will most definitely go 1st round. Hurd has everthing speed, size, can catch the football, great at picking up the blitz.

Hurd does not have great speed. RBs are not drafted highly anymore unless you're a freak like Gurley. Hurd will not be a 1st round pick
