Is Hurd the most underrated back in the SEC? He rushed for almost 1300 with an oline that was mediocre at best. He will have the entire oline back plus complemented with Dobbs and Kamara in 2016. I see him rushing for north of 1500 next year and being a 1st round draft pick.

It's January man. He'll be getting plenty of hype this summer. Settle down

Would never be a first round pick with the class of RB's coming out next year.

Sub 4.0 YPC vs Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, and South Carolina. Over 6.0 YPC in only 2 games. Almost 40% of his TDs came vs Bowling Green, North Texas, & Western Carolina.

I never guarantee anything but imo he will most definitely go 1st round. Hurd has everthing speed, size, can catch the football, great at picking up the blitz.

Ran for over 100 yds against Florida and close to 100 against Bama. And all this with a bad oline.

Hurd is a very solid running back, but his YPC numbers are very average and he is slow for an NFL QB. He has zero second level speed.

You have to be a special back to be a first round pick. Hurd's a pounding back who specializes at getting 3-4 yards a pop. He will not be a 1st round pick.

I don't think it's really debatable that he's underrated but Dobbs and Kamara take some of yardage away. The things that make Jalen special though are: 1. he loves punishing defenses when he runs 2. he can catch and 3. he loves blocking.

A lot of good backs are good runners who can catch but there are only a handful that are good runners who not only catch but also love to block. That's what will make him a great NFL player and likely up his draft stock.

Other than Fournette I would not trade him for anyone.

From your OP:

I don't get why you're impressed by the former, and yet excited by the latter.

Well, I'd put him behind

- Fournette
- Cook
- Chubb
- McCaffrey

And probably equal with Royce Freeman

I think he'll be the 2 best QB next year behind Chad Kelly.
