This is really an indictment on Saban, Kiffin, and the talent around him. The amount of talent Bama assembles allows for poor quarterbacks (who they make look good see ex. your stats) to win titles. Coker is still a average college quarterback he just played on the best team with the best coaches. Not many teams can win a title with Jake Coker at QB.

So winning titles with average QB's is an indictment on Saban? Wrong, it's a credit to him and Kiffin for developing these guys. We didn't hand the ball off 70 times per game, Coker put the offense on his back and won both playoff games not to mention the UT game, and almost brought us back against OM after not starting. Great job by the young man and the coaching staff. Amazing stuff.

Plus pick up a critical 1st down late in the game Monday night rushing for 3 yards on 3rd and 2 in the red zone. Clutch, IMO.

That play was HUGE and it really was clutch

Why are you posting a gif from the third game of the season? He didn't even start that game. Had he have done so, we'd be 15-0 instead of 14-1.

Ole Miss got lucky.

He is a shoe-in for a Clearasil endorsement deal once he goes to the NFL.

The Bammers are very insecure Fanbase , they are like the high school girl who has to have everyone tell her she is beautiful everyday. Look at how many posts by them doing the same in the last 24 hours.

You're confusing insecurity with plain old bragging. tRant has kind of turned into the Bama Fap board, which is expected but probably pretty annoying. To the victor go the spoils.

Is there a stat on how many unnecessary sacks taken from holding the ball too long?

We just won a natty two days ago. What do you want us to talk about spring baseball?

It's pretty shiny, especially when it comes with a natty ring. The difference between Coker and Barker is that Coker actually had very good stats. He didn't just win games by handing the ball off and throwing it 8 times a game like Barker. He put up nice stats and absolutely killed it in the playoffs.

My problem with Coker is that he's badly inconsistent. He can have some beautiful pinpoint throws to someone being covered heavily in the Michigan State game, then throw bullets that should have been softballs in the Clemson game, leading to overthrows and balls bouncing off hands.

Listen, nobody is saying he's the next Joe Montana. But he was about as good as you can get in the playoffs. Completed nearly 80% of his passes in those two games for over 600 yards, 4 TD's and no picks. He missed a couple of open guys against Clemson but he also had some beautiful throws and a drop on 3rd and 11 that should have been a first down. 16/25 for 335 and 2 scores? I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays. And the clutch third down run to essentially seal the win? Ice water.

Which part? I don't recall the receiver -- I assume it was Ridley -- that got a pair perfectly placed 50 yard bombs in the Michigan State game despite the fact that MSU's secondary was doing a good job covering the receiver. As for the Clemson game, I can recall a couple that brushed fingertips when a slightly less forceful throw would have had the receiver in the exact right position for the catch. And we can dispute this, but I think that one that bounced off the white WR's (the one who looked spectacular lately, don't recall his name) hands and up to his facemask was throw too hard.

That was the only throw all game that bounced off a receiver's hands and it had to be a bullet as Clemson had ridiculously tight coverage. It was a ball that #16 normally catches and should have this time. He missed Ridley once on a crossing pattern, but most of his incompletions were throw aways. He had a great game and we don't beat Clemson without him.

Yes it is. Sims was an athlete out of high school that spent half his college career at safety and RB. Everyone thought he would be a disaster and he won an SEC title and shattered Bama's passing records.

Coker was a 3 star out of high school, got beat out by three different QB's at two different schools and was written off heading into this year. Heck, most Bama fans thought Cornwell would win the job.
