So you're basically saying cal has to cheat or take shortcuts to win. That's been my criticism of him. He can't or won't do what some people like Izzo or go will do to build non blue blood programs.

Each to hs own. But guys like tony Bennett etc are damn good to great coaches who do it right

There are a lot of guys out their that don't take shortcuts. Michigan state had some history. But take a look at Wisconsin basketball history and look at the type of achievement Ryan did there. It can be done if you are good enough. Some people can't do it

Btw. I never soda that's worse having final four vacated. I just take exception to the "he never knew" crowd

Roy Williams knew. Rick pitino knew. And calipari sure as hell knew rose and dozier scores were damn suspicious.

Pitino is using the same crap arse defense as calipari. Prostitutes. My god

Please elaborate on the shortcuts he has taken, in detail, instead of just using buzzwords.

But they got in trouble. That's the freaking point RTR

I know you're arguing a million different points with different posters so maybe we can debate this later. My criticism of him is that he can't build up a program without doing something shady. He's not good at thst. But he has success in other ways. What's so wrong about that criticism.

I never singled him out. I just named a couple of other prominent coaches

Once this cools off and you don't have that weird ukwildcats dude being frick tard jock sniffer or better yet 3 piece suit sniffer I would like to talk to someone sane about cal

I actually think he's a good coach not just a recruiter. But he ain't perfect.

For nothing that involved the coach.....

Those programs were built before any of this so called shady stuff happened.

Plus I can see you making the point that getting Derrick Rose eligible was super helpful, but wtf was there to gain from Marcus Camby getting paid by agents.

Btw I don't know much about bill self history

I know he was damn good coach at Tulsa and Illinois before Kansas. Those were his guys that went 37-1 or whatever at Illinois after he left

But that begs the question do they go 37-1 if he was coaching them

Still waiting on that detailed response enumerating each and every way Calipari masterminded these cheating schemes you've accused him of.

And the whole Memphis thing is just so bad

Dozier scores were very suspicious and he was supposed to go to Georgia but they didn't want anything to do with him after that

Cal and Memphis welcomed him though. Then rose did the same thing. It just looks so bad.

I think without the Memphis thing people would have given cal a pass for umass. But it really looks bad for him and I seriously doubt cal could have gotten any job at a big school other than Kentucky who as we all know doesn't really give a frick

From all counts cal has kept his nose clean and the school has had damn good success so it's a win win for everyone. Why do cats fans have to be so defensive

Because whether he has cheated to get players or not, that doesn't magically negate his coaching ability (defensively he's incredibly underrated), his ability to manage the egos of 18 year old 5* kids, and to change his approach to coaching (i.e. Running the dribble drive, platoons, etc) depending upon the ever changing roster. Yes, he can coach. You don't go to multiple Final Fours and NC games at multiple schools without having some coaching ability.

If UofL has to give up their NCAA Championship because of a bunch of hookers, no one is going to question Rick Pitino's ability to have won that championship. But you better believe they would with Cal. It's typical Rantard logic,

Could Bill Self even last at Kentucky? He's made two final Fours in 14 years and many of y'all as well as the media revere him in the same breath as Coach K

No one mentions Self and K in the same echelon. Self actually gets dogged a lot for losing to inferior teams early in the tournament.

Mods please change his name to Patches O'Houllihan. Clearly he is a master of the five D's of tRant posting: Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and Dodge. I continue to await a detailed response outlining in what manner John Calipari himself cheated the system.

RTR America, do you honestly believe Cal started recruiting Cambry & Rose in their senior years at high school? That neither had received "suggestions" from someone tied to the 2 programs? Again, 13 players, 10+ coaches, and the staffs had no idea anything cockeyed had gone on? The staffs did not know which agents were involved? In football, with 85 + scholarship players, the HC always takes the fall when the shite hits the fan. 13 players, 10 coaches, and no one knew? Coach Cal had no idea Derrick Rose had help? really?

That dude reminds me of Duvall in the godfather during the congressional hearing. "I demand an apology, I demand an apology!!!!!!! Damnit!" While defending a guilty as frick mob boss

It's some funny stuff.

First it's nobody knew, then it's everybody does it, the it's explain, then it's a detailed and explanation, then it's show me a video, then it's a video plus 37 eyewitness accounts, then it's 37 eyewitness accounts but only NCAA investigators witnessing the incident, then it's a video, eyewitness accounts, a picture taken by me also time stamped while ukwildcats is with me at the exact time and place

Cal is the best. He's such a slick used car salesman. He could sell these Kentucky fans an iSIS cruise vacation and theyd go in droves if willie Cauley stein was a guest
