So you now assume I don't like Cal? When did I say that? Now you're just making stuff up.

You'll be the first Arkansas fan in history who's pro-Cal.

OK well if you actually like Cal, why would you pick him over Self, or completely avoid listing any reasons why you like him?
quote:

Then why are you continuing to get so upset when some posters would take Self over Cal?
You confuse my crass demeanor and enjoyment of a good argument as being upset. The point of an argument is to win. Apologies if you think my disagreeing with you is being upset.

You certainly care about others opinions. So much so, you've missed the start of your egg hunt this morning. You're clawing away at your key board as we speak, pissed off, just moments away from chunking it.
You certainly need help differentiating between me giving my opinion and not caring whether you like it or not and simultaneously wanting to hear others opinions on the subject so I can argue my point and shoot them down. That doesn't mean I care about theirs at all. "Caring" about it only extends as far as it takes to show the idiocy of the opposing point of view. And the only thing I'm "clawing" at is this bottle opener to pop the top on a Sunday beer while responding on my phone.

Now then, off to Wal-Mart with you Hog.

Calipari cheats

That he does. He's left two vacated Final Four appearances, 1996 at UMass and 2008 at Memphis, in his wake. He is a known cheat. Now, does he cheat at Kentucky? Who knows? Kentucky has tradition to recruit on name alone. Is he a slimeball? Oh yes, he has the look of a sleazy lawyer.

Does this topic have anything to do with Ben Howland? Has Howland ever got one program, much less two, on probation? Has Howland had to vacate his three Final Four appearances? What did I state? Calipari is a known cheater, see UMass and Memphis. As I stated, does he cheat at Kentucky? Who knows? He hasn't been caught. I do know he is a known cheater, and once a cheater always a cheater.

Well then, only a matter of time until the Dawgs implode and have the NCAA sniffing in Starkvegas. We can play this "what if" game.

Ben Howland failed at UCLA because he couldn't even get in the front door at SoCal high schools by the end of his tenure. Read the SI story. Why do y'all think he was available and willing to move to Mississippi in the first place I could never imagine Coach Cal not being welcomed into a Kentucky high school ever.

What if's? Has Calipari ever been caught cheating? Has Howland? That's not a what if that's facts. I'm not saying he cheats at Kentucky. Kentucky has the name to recruit big time recruits. It is known he cheated at UMass and Memphis. Hell, maybe Howland cheats, I don't know. However, I do know Calipari did and was caught twice at two different schools.

Here is a clue, they all cheat...is Cal doing it at UK? Maybe, but I feel confident that Sandy Bell is doing her job well. But you are fooling yourself to think Howland is not pushing into the gray area to get players to Starkville.

But please, you are all are lying sacks if you would tell me you wouldn't want Cal as your head coach.

Please carry on, I am enjoying this back and forth "what if" bull shite arguements

Memphis shot free throws badly the entire tournament so you can't just give Cal a pass for that. That's part of the game.

A. I never said Howland did or didn't cheat. The OP was about Calipari and Self.
B. Yes, I agree most all schools in major sports cheat. Some more than others. It amuses me when fans of certain schools, yes you Ole Miss fans, think 5 star players choose their schools because of their beautiful campus, Christian coach, etc. Total horsecrap. It's about the $$$$$$$$$.
C. I don't know why I'm arguing because I don't give a shite whether Calipari cheats or not. More power to him. He is a convicted cheater, however.

So cheating went on at two programs he was in charge of, yet he didn't know anything about it, and you believe this vindicates him? Congrats to him for being oblivious to what was happening in his programs that he was being paid to lead? Does the phrase plausible deniability mean anything to you?

Look up what the infractions were then come back to me.

One of the infractions happened in Chicago before Derrick Rose was ever a part of the Memphis program

Self is the better coach in my opinion. Also like the way he approaches the game and doesn't only rely on the one and done. And he has won the Big 12 what 13 times in a row now, Cal wouldn't have came close to doing that there.

Meh if conference titles mean so much, Jim Tressel and Bob Stoops would have been better CFB coaches than Saban and Meyer in 2008. Saban only had two conference titles before the 2009 season. It's not that difficult to win conference titles at Kansas. They've won like 60 conference titles in basketball. Self should have a lot more than two Final Four appearances. The only other modern day "all-time great" coaches who had only two FFs at Self's age were Jim Boeheim and Jim Calhoun who both basically had to build their programs from scratch.

And this is coming from somebody who hates Kentucky basketball because of the idiotic comparisons between Saban and Bama football and Calipari and Kentucky basketball. I would take Calipari's six Final Four appearances at three different programs over Self's two Final Four appearances any day.
