We have more SEC championships than anyone else in that list.

We have the same number of titles as auburn, and if you want to count them the cheap way we have more than florida.

The spin doctor is in the house everybody.

Now spin the last 35 yrs of our history to make it better than the programs that have recently won national championships.

Auburn's advantages over A&M sre greater than any SEC school beside Alabama and possibly Tennessee have over Auburn.

As much as I dislike them, I can buy Georgia being superior to Auburn a lot easier than I can buy A&M being superior

dude stfu poser. I'm not sure why you think it's cool to talk shite about your own team at every turn. You dont' seem very bright so let me break down that exchange for you.

I said:

There are barely discernible differences historically between uga/uf/au/lsu

That's a fact.

Other poster pointed out others have a recent "championship". (didn't specify which kind).

I responded with what you quoted.

Why that burned your panties up in such a knot I have no idea.

No most historical rankings don't put the Aggies and Arkansas over Auburn. There was one ESPN guy who ranked Aggie and Arkansas over Auburn a few years ago, but his single opinion hardly equates to the majority

Anyone who puts A&M over Auburn needs to wake up and smell what they're shoveling.

too many ways to look at it

Football -
Bama - CLEARLY
LSU, UF, UGA, AU, UT - Past Champs
ARK, MIZZ, USC, MSU - Been To SECCG
OM, VU, UK, TEXAM - Can't find ATL

Basketball -
UK - CLEARLY
UF, ARK - Past NC
LSU, MIZZ, UT, MSU, VU - NCAAT Usually
UA, UGA, AU, OM, TEXAM, USC - Just can't get it together

Miscellaneous sports -
UF ( always competitive ), UT (Women's Basketball alone )
Everyone else is strong in something

Over-all programs
UF ( All sports competitive usually )
LSU, UGA, BAMA, TEXAM, UT, ARK ( All sports should be competitive ) FLAGSHIPS
AU, MSU, OM, UK, MIZZ, USC ( All sports could be competitive, significant hurdles that above do not have )
VU - got to be impressed with what they have accomplished in certain sports

JDHlaw: what is that based on? A&M and Arkansas are way too low. WTH is South Carolina doing in the single digits?

ESPN Prestige Rankings:

1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. LSU
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. Arkansas
7. Texas A&M
8. Auburn
9. Ole Miss
10. Missouri
11. Kentucky
12. Mississipi St.
13. South Carolina
14. Vanderbilt

Scout: Greatest Since 1936

1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. LSU
4. Georgia
5. Auburn
6. Florida
7. Arkansas
8. Texas A&M
9. Ole Miss
10. Missouri
11. South Carolina
12. Mississippi St.
13. Kentucky
14. Vanderbilt

Bleacher Report: Greatest 50 of All-Time

1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. LSU
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. Arkansas
7. Auburn
8. Texas A&M
9. Ole Miss
10. Missouri

Note that Auburn is behind Arkansas and A&M in ESPN's Prestige Rankings. They'll likely pass both the next time they're updated, but this gives some historical context. In the update before this one, Florida was behind Arkansas, also, but that's been around 15 years ago.

Check what I posted above. The only one that put Auburn ahead of Arkansas was released last year. As I noted, Auburn will probably pass Arkansas in the ESPN rankings when/if they're updated. Historically, however, Auburn is not in a different tier from Arkansas.
