Who? LSU, UF, or UGa?

If they keep going down the road they're going right now then soon they will be knocked down but I think right now they still lay claim to it.

I say that because carolina never has won anything. It's not baseless. History teaches us a lot. It also tends to repeat itself. South carolina is a secondary program in what is right now, the weaker division.

Furthermore, the single most talented player in USCe history will be gone in 9 months. Which will weaken the program even more. Lattimore is already gone. In the meantime, bama, lsu, and even ole miss bring in top 5-10 recruiting classes. I don't see the east closing the gap.

LSU's ahead of them in the CFDW rankings.

And UF has more national championship hardware.

dafuq history got to do with it?
Here's a history lesson: USC will never win 11 games! oops. USC will never win the East! oops. USC will never win in Gainsville! oops. USC will never beat a #1 team! oops. USC will never sign the #1 overall player! oops.

Before the early 1920s many people said the South would never be able to compete in football on a national level...

I'm sorry. I'm an alabama fan. Beating #1 teams and "making it" to the sec title game don't hold much weight with me. I deal in sec titles and national titles. Signing the #1 player in the country when he's FROM SOUTH CAROLINA is no feat either.

Doesn't make a damn bit of difference. The sports world don't care who you're a fan of. Again, my point just flies past your head.

Lets compare the two conferences "middle programs" (those who did not go to sec title and those who didn't finish last) and the stars they lose/gain:
West:
1.TAMU - heisman winner stays/ leading wr leaves
2.Ole Miss - very young team + #1 overall
3.LSU - will have crap defense in my opinion
4.m state - have no idea
5.arkansas - Loses Tyler Wilson plus davis
East:
1.Florida - lose star dengensive players
2.SC - loses lattimore
3.Vanderbilt - loses Rodgers
4.Tennesse - loses every sliver of hope on offense
5.Mizzou- already terrible
In my opinion the top chart looks a little better than the bottom, and I'm not including bowl success, only future.
Counter this argument Cockrocket

I think the D will be pretty good but I'll be surprised if it's a top 5 type elite D. It's not so much the caliber but the sheer number of junior/senior losses means a lot of inexperience. I really think to have a good year that O that's been finishing ranked in 80's will have to step up quite a bit. If not...

I personally LOVE the fact that people think LSU will fall back. It's great for us fans. We either fall back like everyone thinks we will or when Bama and T&M lose to LSU it will be an upset of epic proportions!

You don't deal in shite. You watch people that deal in SEC titles and national titles on tv then act like you have something to do with it. No one here is arguing Bama isn't the best, we're not fricking retarded. We know Bama's the best. That has jack arse nothing to do with this thread. If the thread's title was, "Does the SEC West have the best team in college football?" then you wouldn't sound like a moron right now but that's not the title.

Last season Florida beat LSU and TAMU, USC only lost to LSU by 2,VANDY - yeah Vandy - beat both West teams they played and Georgia took Bama to the wire. Outside of Alabama which is CLEARLY the best, top to bottom the East is pretty even with the West right now.

If this is all you see, you are not looking hard enough or at all.
TAMU def has some major holes, especially up front. Which does not help considering there are a few teams that can run the ball in the SEC. Also you lost your OC, this is a huge loss, don't minimize it. Sumlin is a great HC, but the relationship between QB and OC/QB coach is big, especially after last year year. There is no way to tell how it will gel.

Our new OC did pretty well in the CB. I'm honestly not that worried about the offense. The front 7 on defense that's a different story.

How the west is not considered the best division by quite a bit is beyond me. People continue to bring up florida beating lsu or georgia beating auburn. Those are regular season games played with a home-field advantage. When the best of west plays the best of the east, on a neutral field, the west has come away victorious 4 years in a row.

The majority of those games were blowouts i.e. Lsu/GA 2011 bama/florida 2009 auburn/cocks 2010. When a division hasn't won an sec title since 2008, how can one make a logical arguement that it is "close" to the other???

what is beyond me , is how, you think the difference between the 2 divisions is so great ...
you seem to only focus on BAMA ... which is great right now, but the difference between Bama an LSU, TAMU, OM is about the same as the difference between them and UGA, UF, SCAR.. probably greater.

Vega thinks so too!

2013-14 BCS CHAMP ODDS

ALABAMA 5-2 GEORGIA 12-1

TEXAS A&M 12-1 SOUTH CAROLINA 12-1

LSU 15-1 FLORIDA 15-1

ARKANSAS 300-1 VANDERBILT 500-1

OLE MISS 500-1 MISSOURI 500-1

AUBURN 1000-1 TENNESSEE 1000-1

MISSISSIPPI STATE 1000-1

Other than one team from your division being greater than all else , including everyone else in the country ... the divisions are equal ... One team does not make it the best division or even the hardest, because you know whos going to win it... Its like saying the SEC East was the best division in Basketball in 2012 because Kentucky won the title, it's just not true.

ETA: Left out Kentucky odds, but they are in the feild so ...
