It is a rivalry but it's not an in-state rivalry. LSU's historic rival from the days of the flying wedge and the old SEC and even through the 1980s was Tulane -- that was LSU's game during "rivalry week" at the end of November. That rivalry is dead. LSU is left with Ole Miss and Alabama which games certainly have a lot of history, but not the same kind of in-state intensity.

It is a rivalry, but Ole Miss has not been good for a long time, so it hasn't been as intense lately. When both teams are good, it's the biggest game on our schedule. 2003 and 2014 are two examples.

It is the way I use it. But then I'm a BAMA fan, so there is that. You may just have to live with it.
Your use of the English language is on par with a bag of disfigured dicks. But you're a Bama fan, so there is that. You may just have to live with it.

Good problem to have. His track record shows that he trades up where able. With SEC further seperating itself from the rest of the conferences I wonder where he would go if he built a successful program at Ole Miss? It'd have to be a "blue blood" type program that could outspend an SEC head coach salary. I just don't see too many of those out there for the taking soon. Maybe if someone else bolts to NFL.
Especially since the SEC just renegotiated TV contracts and are offloading a ton more money to each school. And that's without having the SEC GOTW on CBS or future additional bowl revenue from Texas and Oklahoma.

Normally, I'd just say stay classy. But, unfortunately, I've been to Mississippi.

I would say it’s generational dependent. I am a GenX Reb and I consider them both our main rivals.
There is no team I enjoy beating more than LSU and no team I hate losing to more than MSU.
Those things are similar but they are not the same. I also always look more forward to LSU game than the MSU game. Just different vibes.
Last thing, I’m pissed at the SEC for not making sure OM vs LSU is ALWAYS the week before Halloween. That is where it should be.

It's a rivalry, one Kiffin has the potential to make very frustrating for us.
