Auburn doesn't have their quarterback of the future currently on roster, IMO.

Woody Barrett could be, but it won't be this year. But if they don't have a coach who can develop him he will go the way of the other HS QBs we've signed.

We weren't targeting pro style guys necessarily. We kept JJ because the coaches had 2 months until signing day, and Gus was more inverted veer/power run with qbs before Marshall, which JJ looked perfect for in HS.

White was about our 5th or 6th option behind will Grier, Treon Harris, Brandon Harris, and maybe a few others. We also snuck Desaun Watson onto campus before a blog spoiled it after we had White commited. He was a fallback plan and a good one, but he doesn't fit what we would preferably want to do in a perfect world

This is exactly what all you fricks said when johnny football came to the sec. He's too tiny, or he will get killed.

then preceded to torch all of your asses. So i wouldn't quite be saying that just yet.

Not sure who said that because we all think (right or not) that Gus is still considering him an option as starter.

It was 2 or 3 posters, not a majority or anything but just found it very odd. Good to know most see it as a truly open race to this point.

I think our coaches would prefer JF3 to win that job. I think it is truly open, but I do think they are hoping he comes and wins it. I don't think they will give it to him after last year, and honestly it might even be open enough for Barrett the freshman to win it if he came in and was great.

AU lost 4 games of 8 or less points without a big play threat on Offense. The longest run from scrimmage was JJs 60 yard run against LSU. Most people believe that the Defense will be much better and the OL has depth and talent. Robinson will be a starter from the beginning (something that was needed last year) and the WRs can't be any worse. That leaves the QB being able to make a few plays this year to turn things around. Most people feel JF3 has that at least in him.

The last time I saw him throw a football, he threw the ball into the turf on a RB coming out of the backfield 5 yards away from the LOS. I think it's still Sean White bc he's the one who can pass effectively. We'll rotate JF3 in & possible run some Run/Pass option stuff, but I seriously doubt he's going to be the starter coming out of the gates.

I think Joey Gatewood takes over as soon as he hits campus. JMO.

He will be a cancer on the team if things get tough or don't go his way. He has a history of it at FSU and now at EMCC. Talented kid, but comes with baggage.

They are spinning their wheels. Honestly not trying to troll, I just don't see where this Auburn team is improving. They could be last in the West this year.

Sean White will likely be the QB for Auburn*. The fact that JFIII had no other SEC offers and only played in the 2nd half of his JUCO games tells you everything you need to know.
Auburn* Beat Writer Brandon Marcello of al.com and SEC Country says JFIII can't throw.

NM only had an offer to KSU for QB. I have no idea whether JFIII is the answer but as mentioned the QB position has to make some plays in our O, White is serviceable but really hasn't shown much to expect more than a 7-9 win season. JFIII may not be any better but as a fan you have to hope and we have reason to believe it is possible he could be more than what we have seen from him in the past in our offense. If he doesn't pan out we will be what most expect...average 7-9 wins.

In the Auburn fan base there seems to be a huge divide with White. Some think he can be great and some don't expect much from him.

They will have one of the best OL in the SEC this year and Robinson is a top 5 RB. The key is to get some play from the QB.

I chalk it up to the silliness of recruiting services. He won the Elite 11 his year and people assumed he was the second coming. He also had no other decent offers besides Auburn. What appears to be a theme for our QB recruits.

I should have qualified my statement as he was young last year and certainly could improve. However, watching him play in our O makes anyone wonder if he is capable of making plays to win games both with his feet and his arm (stretching the field with accuracy). I do believe he has some intangibles that you want in a QB ala Allen at arkie last season. But at the end of the day I want more than 8-9 win seasons. Personally, I don't see him achieving more than that as the QB at Auburn. As with any player I have concerns about on our team...I hope I am wrong.

You cared when he dominated Alabama. I certainly cared when he raped Auburn.

We lost both of our tackles from last year to the NFL. It is possible the Oline could struggle this season, especially early.
