Alright. Say the SEC bans them and then every violation had an increase in fines. Start at 10,000, then go to 25,000, then 50,000 and so on. The athletics department would then see to it that none got in should that happen.

I thought this was a board full of informed fans of SEC football.
Davis Wade Stadium has a noisemaker exception. They are perfectly legal.

I think they will start kicking people out for ringing at the wrong time, and I couldn't be happier about it.

I think if State continues to experience success, and ultimately garnering the better broadcast times and larger broadcast audiences, then yes the cowbells will go.
Nobody wants to hear that shite on television.

Grind point for MSU.
You need to go read up on the noisemaker exception that was implemented for State. As long as State fans "ring responsibly" (primarily meaning the cowbells quiet down when the opposing center is over the ball) then there is really nothing to complain about. If State fans ring them too much, the Conference will change the rule.
For those of you that just don't like the sound of bells while your team is getting beat: Don't come to DWS.

A few fans had whistles and kept blowing them.
There are pretty explicit rules for whistles.

They won't be outlawed, but even if they are, do you really think it will keep them out of DWS?
Depends on how important 15 yard penalties are to your fans.
Then I'm sure some enterprising Mississippi lawyer would sue the SEC till they throttled crowd noise too. Establishing a decibel limit that can't be overreached. Even with cowbells out stadium still isn't as loud as others in the conference so it is mainly all Butthurt if we beat you.

MSU put together a few competitive seasons, or actually won the west once
They have won the West once before. UT beat them 24-14 on their way to the MNC in '98.
That was when the cowbells were actually illegal.
State would have to have a clear competitive advantage due to the cowbells before being forced to get rid of them I would imagine.

We will just start a crowd funding program to pay for all of our fines.

Isn't there another board for that?

Not during a play, they aren't. And there was plenty of clanga clanga going on at every snap.
Personally I don't think they effect play much because it just isn't that loud. Everybody is busy clanging instead of yelling. It sure is annoying as hell sitting next to one, though.

The cowbells aren't even as cute as the player/coach rave on the sideline lol.... Lotta #believing going on

Only a matter of time. Especially now that they've had a whiff - the noise will be vuvuzela x1000.

or television execs complaining about what is essentially the sound of nickels raining down on a metal shed roof for 3 hours, and how it makes for a shitty broadcast experience.
if state continues with their newfound success, national broadcasts are going to go to other teams because neutral observers don't want to hear that shite.

I believe they should measure the noise level of all football games. Teams crowd noise above a certain level should be penalized on the field and fined after the game.
