I love how you continue to move the goal post back. Who cares how many TDs Demps and Rainey had compared to Yeldon and Lacy? Tebow got most of the rushing touchdowns for Florida in '08 because the man was a wrecking ball inside the 10 yard line. I simply proved to you that, as a pure passer, AJ McCarron was just as good - if not better - in his junior year as Tebow was in his junior year.
So tell me how Tebow is 10x the QB McCarron can ever be again?

90% of the time, A.J. reads the coverage better than that. It was just a bad decision on his part in a short yardage situation with the game on the line. He's the one who chose to make that throw.

This is why I question the average gumps intelligence. It "bounced off his hands" because Howard Matthews had to take like 2 steps to rock his world... because AJ McCarron read presnap two deep, but the coverage was actually robber, in which case the hole in the zone for that seam route magically disappears. A high school quarterback that has ever thrown a ball in a safety's vicinity would have known not to throw that ball. Gumps need to watch more football. I swear every time a play isn't executed correctly, it is never due to their own player's incompetence.

I'm actually in upstate New York today - sitting in a coffee shop, enjoying the sights and sounds of a Sunday afternoon. I'm about to leave to spend some time with my son, who is in college here. So, get off the computer, go visit some family, or better yet, take in the quiet tranquility of sitting shoeless in tall green grass on the banks of a lake or stream.
Enjoy the moment.

Bear Bryant was always fond of saying, "If it hits your hands, you had better catch it."
It was probably a poor read by McCarron but it was still an accurate throw and it was Kenny Bell's responsibility and job to hold onto the football, no matter what was about to happen to him.

No. It was a stupid throw in to double coverage. Bear threw the ball 4 times a game and ran the wishbone.

AJ is the Ringo Starr of quarterbacks. You can probably plug in guys better than him, and his counterparts on his team outshine him. But at the end of the day, he's still a Beatle.

I think until we see him at the next level, he is the Danny Wuerffel of the SEC. He may be great, he may suck. It is hard to tell when the team you lead is twice as talented as most of your opposition.

That was only true from 1971-1982. In the 1960s he had some of the best QBs The University of Alabama has ever produced playing for him: Pat Trammell, Joe Namath, Steve Sloan, Kenny Stabler, and Scott Hunter. We were more of a passing team in those days.

Think about this. The greatest coach in college football history does not understand passing, but Telefawx does, because Bear Bryant (a college wide receiver) ran the wishbone for a period of time.
On the other hand, Telefawx does understand passing, because though he never coached a game, he is a fan of JOHNNY F****G FOOTBALL.

Not hard to do with 2 RBs avg 7 ypc, 3 1st rounders on the OLine, wide open WRs and 8 seconds to throw. Did you watch any of the games?
I'm torn, because I do believe he's very talented, but he does have a lot of help. Most successful QB's do have good help though. Aaron Murray and Johnny Manziel have a lot of talent on their sides of the ball as well.
It's crowded at the top for the SEC QB talent, but it's a long way to fall…

Saying AJ is the most underrated QB in SEC history is a mighty bold statement for a one eyed fat man but underrated he definitely is. He manages the offense well, throws a nice pass, very catchable and is a fierce competitor. If LSU would have had him instead of JJ, JL and ZM in 2011 and 2012 we would have another NC or two. Don't care for the gumps but AJ has been solid to very good.
