Well, I can't claim that he was in space, but my maternal grandather (UA, '49) programmed the computers for the Saturn and Apollo missions ;)

If someone wants to start a program to get every Auburn grad into space, I'd donate a large sum towards that endeavor, provided the trip was one-way.

Based on what? To me it seems like your "every redneck applies to Bama" statistic is pure, unadulterated bull shite. You're saying I should take what you're saying as the gold standard rather than what has been released by a University?
Surely you cant be ignorant enough to believe that only dumb rednecks apply to Bama to an extent large enough to cause such a massive disparity in acceptance rates... right? Bear with me here..... but could it quite possibly be because Bama has a considerably larger applicant pool each year for a limited freshman class?

Limited Freshman Class ?
