I think Nick was so good because his eyes were so far apart. It's almost like he could see around the corner before even getting to it.

Both you and TTs enjoy the season and I expect to see your posts after JJ leaves saying "No way can we replace JJ".
My OP states that I fully expect Jeremy Johnson's ceiling to be higher than Nick Marshall's as a pure quarterback. I also did not say that Nick Marshall can not be replaced. That being said, I will enjoy this season and I will enjoy watching Jeremy Johnson.

Remember, I was raving about him during the recruiting process and was a little over the edge when the chances of him going to Ole Miss were getting higher and higher. I wanted him in the class no matter who the other quarterback was (at the time, Auburn was expecting to take 1, maybe 2 with people higher on the board).

I just read your title and disagree is all. I don't really care much what the OP said.

there was just something about Nick Marshall. Maybe it was his quiet demeanor, his ability to lead by example

I agree about Nick, but I like JJ's demeanor as well, he just exudes confidence, leadership, and control from what I've seen thus far.

Truth, a QB usually does point at hIs receivers after they catch a pass for a touchdown.

That's the best you got?

JJ cried like a little bit** in high school when he was losing or things didn't go his way. Like I said, I hope he is over that type of behavior. If not, he will be hard pressed to win over his teammates. Especially Duke "I can't catch anything thrown directly at me" Williams.

Marshall was one shifty motherfather. The dude could just flat out beat you with his athletic ability. Malzahn knew Marshall was a wildcard but was willing to take the risk due to the home run threat on every play and the overall big-play ability. Jeremy, though... this dude is exactly what you want in a QB, at least from what we've seen so far. Poised in the pocket, big body, big arm, mobile, accurate, and has stepped up in every situation he's been put in. I can't wait to see him with a whole season.

Elite athletes get emotional over being so good at what hey do. Jeremy Johnson is no different. Cam Newton cries looking at himself in the mirror sometimes. Bo Jackson cried when running over and by people.

It's what elite athletes do.

Nick was not used the same way he was in 2013. AU got away from the read option, with Nick running the ball. They wanted to pass more and use Coates and Williams to stretch the Defense. The problem was Marshall's accuracy beyond 15 yards. I think AU will have an easier time replacing the 2014 Marshall, then they did the 2013 Marshall.

The difference for JJ this year will be that he knows there will be no Marshall to back him up, or bail him out. More pressure.

How can that be a difference when that is inaccurate to begin with. When was Marshall a backup, and when did he come in when JJ needed him to bail him out? Some stupid right there.

You mean there is more pressure being the starter? :mindblowngif:

2nd in the conference in deep ball completion %....

Jj definitely won't get the wide open looks Marshall got. And your running backs will have at least one more defender keyed on them instead of NM as a threat to keep it.

But i like that you're already comparing him to the two greatest players in AU history.
