IMO, Nick Marshall will be harder to replace than us Auburn fans think...

Is Jeremy Johnson already very good? Yes, we have seen what he can do against SEC defenses. Do I think he has a higher ceiling than Nick Marshall as a pure quarterback? Yes. Is he as good of a runner? No. Is he as good or better at passing when compared to Nick Marshall? Yes.
But...there was just something about Nick Marshall. Maybe it was his quiet demeanor, his ability to lead by example or his drive to ultimately prove critics wrong both on and off the field. I'm not sure. Nick Marshall was always good under pressure and never got the recognition for how good he really was in every phase of the game, IMO. His game just improved so dramatically from the time he arrived on campus, and his intangibles were incredible. He seemed to posses great locker room presence and always seemed to gather respect or younger and older players.
The 2015 Auburn football team may reflect a better record than the 2014 Auburn football team did, but, IMO, it won't be just because of the quarterback being better. Could Jeremy Johnson blow up a la Jameis Winston? Sure, although it isn't likely, it's possible. Could Jeremy Johnson eventually become an NFL quarterback, while Nick Marshall had to transition to defensive back? We will see, although he's off to a good start. One thing is for certain, in my eyes Nick Marshall was a damn good college quarterback.

Def a better NFL type QB but for good CF defenses he will be much easier to game plan for with out the same broken down play escape ability.

There is no doubt that Marshall had a special means of communication. It will be hard to replace that.

Agreed. The read option threat is going to be much different going from Nick to Jeremy.

He was great. Will miss him. Last year in a particular game, he raped a team to the tune of 41-7.

Nick Marshall was, without a doubt, a good college quarterback.
Dude ran Gus's system to near perfection. He had a laser rocket arm too.

But not before he hits that blunt

He also chose to risk his career and his teams season by smoking weed just before the season.
We need a leader with Johnsons type of character.

In Junior College, I saw him throw a dime 72 yards down field, on a line, and drop it into the wide receivers arms in stride. He was roughly 6'1 and 185 pounds at the time and could still sling the ball with ease.

He threw lasers. That Sammy Coates TD down the sideline in the 2015 Iron Bowl (second quarter I think) was a god damn bullet.

Nick will definitely be hard to replace.
JJ's strengths are just different than Nick's. The thing we have going for us......we have a HC that is an O genius and doesn't try to fit square pegs in round holes.

Weed has a very calming effect.

For godsakes, he wasn't strung out on heroin with needle marks. Weed might as well be a beer in today's society

Dude had a cannon. Reminded me a lot of Michael Bishop
