Tennessee is still #2 with all things considered.

In the past 50 years they are at the bottom of championships, they have losing records against other teams and they have a 15 year dumpster fire currently.

Tennessee islucky to be 6

There's no chance Tennessee gets edged out of the Big 6.

Since Neyland, Tennessee is worse than Auburn in conference championships, national championships and generally anything that matters

Since Neyland, Tennessee is easly #6 in the league.

Since 1953:

TOTAL WINS
517- Alabama
491- Auburn
488- Florida
482- Georgia
481- Tennessee
477- LSU
---------------
456- Arkansas
416- Ole Miss
412- Texas A&M
376- Missouri
359- South Carolina

AP POLL STANDING/POINTS:
#3 Alabama (839 pts)
#11 Auburn (544 pts)
#12 LSU (524 pts)
#14 Florida (476 pts)
#15 Georgia (463 pts)
#16 Tennessee (457 pts)
-----------------------
#18 Arkansas (409 pts)
#20 Texas A&M (303 pts)
#23 Ole Miss (295 pts)
#34 Missouri (206 pts)
#46 South Carolina (118 pts)

SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
21- Alabama
9- Georgia
9- LSU
8- Auburn
8- Florida
8- Tennessee
--------------
5- Ole Miss

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
11- Alabama
3- LSU
3- Florida
2- Auburn
1- Georgia
1- Tennessee

BIG 6 WINNING PERCENTAGE
61.3%- Alabama (143-89-7)
55.6%- Florida (132-105-3)
50.4%- Auburn (127-125-5)
43.9%- Georgia (87-112-5)
43.3%- LSU (78-103-6)
41.6%- Tennessee (77-110-10)

Sine Neyland retired, Tennessee is last or tied for last of the "Big 6" in SEC Titles, National Titles, AP Poll Standing, and Big 6 winning percentage... and if LSU wins just four more games than Tennessee during any period in the future, they'll be dead last in wins too.

There is no doubt that UT is the SEC's #6 program nowadays. Still, their dominant years under Neyland count for something. Tennessee went from being the #1 program of the SEC as of about 1953... they were passed by Alabama in the early '60s. They've been holding on to #2 ever since.

But if the next 10-15 years are anything close to their most recent 10-15 years, they'll fall all the way down to #6 without a doubt. There is very little separation these days between UT, UF, UGA, AU, and LSU.

You can't be part of the Big 6 without a SEC championship. They can be included the day that happens

That's just stupid.

What if Alabama decided to bolt the SEC and join the ACC? Are you saying they'd have to prove themselves against NC State and Wake Forest before they could become an elite member of that conference? Of course not. They'd be the best program in the league on day 1.

Isn't the whole premise of the big 6 that they are the 6 programs capable of winning the SECG, since they are the only 6 to do so since expansion. Thus having the ability to bring an NC to the conference

Last 2 times Oklahoma has been #1 to end the season didn't the SEC prove they shouldn't have been?

Big 6 = Teams that can win the SEC.
: these 6 obviously have been historically better than the rest but that isn't what makes them the big 6

Answer: win the SEC

No. They are the Big 6 because they are the Top 6 in literally every statistic in the SEC history books.

That's pretty stupid considering Oklahoma has about 9 National Titles. Football history did not begin in 2003.

Big 6 spots are reserved for the Top 6 founding teams.

61.3%- Alabama (143-89-7)
55.6%- Florida (132-105-3)
50.4%- Auburn (127-125-5)
43.9%- Georgia (87-112-5)
43.3%- LSU (78-103-6)
41.6%- Tennessee (77-110-10)

I disagree with you. The big 6 are teams that have won the SEC since expansion IMO, they obviously are also the programs "at the top in every statistical category"

A big 6 member will win it this year, and next year, and the next year. Like always... One of those 6 will field the best team.

Oklahoma will have to win the conference before they are included in the "big." I believe they would eventually

Why the hell would I care how many conferences titles they have? It's not in the SEC, and the last 3x they won their conf they have not been better than the SEC champion. (03,08,15?)

There media voted National championships of the 70s and 80s are cool and all. But they play someone besides LSU in 03 and have another one under that system. They play someone other than UF in 08 and and get another one under that system too.
It was pretty much just have a good record and win your bowl game against another good team, not necessarily the #2 team or even top 5 team

Until they win a few SEC titles they're little 9. Success in other conferences is irrelevant. Same would be true for Mich, ND, USCw, etc.

the only team that would feel this way is the one dropping out. OU would be 2nd only to Bama. You might have a point if it's only conference titles but they have too many National Championships to be placed below anyone but Bama
