Mett needs to just play within himself.

If he does that, we win it all.

I have been saying since 2011 that 2013 and 2014 were going to be two of the best years in SEC history, top to bottom ... but that it could be bad for the conference because we could very well cannibilizr ourselves.

The old Spurrier warning of '91 incarnated.

I know I have a bias, but LSU is one of the best 7 teams in the country, imo. . .and a legit contender to win it all.

Mett has to step up big time for y'all to be even close to having a shot to win it all, which I don't think will happen

They were one play away from playing for the SECC last year and possibly going to the NC under Metts first year and a makeshift OL. Surely that won't improve with a proven QB coach and our OL coach back full time on the line.

these kinds of quotes are hilarious.

lsu has had double digit win seasons, made a national championship game, was ever so close to another all with a totally craptastic offense and essentially horrific qb play.

by all accounts the offense is going to be better this season. if the offense improves even marginally, there is no reason to think that lsu won't be at the top.

Consider the source. If anyone knows the path to the national championship, it is an Ole Miss fan.

As well they should. 15 and 5, you may hoist the Outback trophy.
We were 1 play from playing in the SECCG last year.

With Mett playing poorly most of the season. Ratio was 12-7 last year. 15-5 and we hoist the crystal ball.

Unlike you newbies we are have played at least 4 top ten teams the last three years in a row and never lost most of them, never. (and by the way we are 3-3 versus Alabama last six regular season games too.) We know how to win big games. We have experience. You have a heisman winner that partied all year and may or may not play this year and the media. You have as much a chance of beating us in Tiger Stadium as you do of beating bama. Neither will happen.

first, i completely agree that lsu could have a huge year...the original post questioning lsu being considered potentially the 6th best team in sec is valid. probably just group for now lsu, usc, fla, a&m, and uga together til games prove out.

but...lsu fans coming up in here and writing off lsu's loss to clemson is excuse-making. your team lost...own it like men.

No serious contender would have been able to get up for a "Clemson". You want your team to get up for every game, but a game like that is just a trap.

LSU had nothing to gain in beating Clemson, Clemson had everything to gain.

when you win a game like that its "SEC,SEC,SEC" & "haha weak arse ACC"

but when you lose all of a sudden thats your response?

For both of us, but everyone forgets it happens to everyone even Bama, remember the mauling they got in the Sugar bowl by what was it Utah State? They are kids and sometime they just dont give a shite about bowls. When my brother played for LSU and played Nebraska in sugar bowl in 80;s he told me before the game we are going to get our arse kicked. All anyone cares about is the parties after the game, we won the SEC and no way we can win the National Championship, so we have nothing to play for. The score validated his comments.

I suspect the same for us. Our players were hitting louisville players like they wanted to kill them, then show boating about the hit, while we're down 21 points. It was just horrible to watch.

I think it is hilarious that LSU fans in this thread have zero concern replacing all of those defensive starters, a lot of which were underclassmen. I expect the offense to be much better but I expect the defense to at least drop off a little. John Chavis is excellent but he is not Jesus Christ.
