Drop off from the '12 "D"?? No way. This year's defense will actually be better than last year.
LSU had SEVEN freshmen in the back seven, two deep rotation. I think there will be great improvement back there.
D-line starters are SEC quality.
Freak and Ego will be the best DT duo in conference.
Tigers only question on "D" is finding quality depth along the D-line.

The Rant is gonna be a very fun place to be in the next few months. Anyone who thinks LSU is the 6th best team in the SEC, hasn't been paying attention for over a decade now. And no one will beat LSU in BR this year. The games that I'm worried about are bama, Georgia and Ole Miss. I don't see us loosing more than 2 games in any scenario. Our D is young, but have experience. D-line depth being my only concern on that side of the ball. Our offense will be better and we return damn near every starter along with a proven NFL caliber OC. This team will be hungrier than last years group. I hope the SEC takes LSU lightly. That shite would be fun to watch. The only 2 teams that might be better than LSU is bama and Ga. Everyone else can keep dreaming. Till aTm actually beats LSU, you have no argument. Y'all beat bama last year cause we greased them up for y'all. USCe, when's the last time y'all have even beaten LSU? Florida, I think is a good team, but I don't think they're good enough to beat us at home. Ole Miss is dangerous, because they usually bring their best that they have against us. LSU is no lower than 3rd best in the SEC and that's just being realistic. My optimism says better.

I am always confused by LSU fans. MOST people on this board agree that you will contend for the SEC West. And if you win the West you have a better than even chance at the SEC championship, and if you win the SEC championship you have a great shot at the Natty. However, LSU fans will take a post by ONE magazine, or 1 or 2 posters on here and repeat it as if it is a common though among all football fans everywhere.
The only thing I can think of is that you need something to get you ready for football. Something that, if you DO win and contend, you can run around talking about how you showed everybody.
Is it really necessary to latch on to a couple of uninformed comments? Maybe you guys should just roll your eyes and chalk those up to dumb people saying dumb things.

How about respect? You cost yourself respect with that loss. LSU fans like to scream Georgia is an underachiever. Using your logic, we just shouldn't be able to get up for some of our games and we are to automatically be respected anyway.

I'm not buying that 'not getting up' deal, that's ridiculous. The D played well, the O returned to atrocious with about 8 3&outs, the D wore out and we lost by a score. (Still could of won...2nd@2, man run the friggin ball). Honestly (this will probably be a minority opinion) I didn't see this 'huge talent gap' between LSU and Clemson in the least. They have a lot of good players. They also did what was necessary to win, we didn't.

The only talent gap between LSU and Clemson was in LSU's favor. You simply slipped up for whatever reason. Hey, it happens. We've seen it happen to us plenty of times.

Well, Coach Miles was dedicated to throwing the ball last year, for good reason. Kudos to him and hopefully the Cameron hire will make this effective. But the end of the bowl game, the last game of the season, fat arse Copeland standing on the sideline...just run off tackle and get it over with. Oh well, gotta take the bad with the good.
