I am just replying to the OP. No they are not the 6th best in conference. They are the second best in conference. They are only second because we dont know how their young guys will perform.

Ole Miss fans and their lecturing in this thread about what it takes to win NC and what it takes to be succesful in the SEC are really hilarious. You havn't been relevant in over 50 years nationally. Will let you know when we need your advice on what it takes to be competitive in the SEC or BCS Title chase which of course will be never. Look I am happy for you, you've got a good young coach who is gonna have Ole Miss moving in the right direction, but lets not get ahead of ourselves or anything.

Not lecturing, I actually root for lsu typically. I was just pointing out something that's obviously missing in this thread and will play a factor in how successful yall will be this year, simple as that.

Replacing the draftees will be essential, but LSU fans are confident because it has happened every year without fail under Chavis. Safety and CB are both loaded with young, experienced talent. Same goes for LB. Minter was a stud, but four freshmen LBs saw a lot of playing time during SEC games. The only position on the D that is a question mark is DE, and LSU fans know what we having coming there.

Watch Chavis turn that water into wine

I think it is hilarious that LSU fans in this thread have zero concern replacing all of those defensive starters, a lot of which were underclassmen. I expect the offense to be much better but I expect the defense to at least drop off a little. John Chavis is excellent but he is not Jesus Christ.

We grow great defensive players on trees, so I don't think the D will fall off.

So basically the whole purpose of this thread is to agree that the media gargles Sabans balls, Ole Miss is the Cinderella story of the SEC West, Johnny Football, UGA's Murray having a heisman season, jorts and the Clowney saga.

Yes, LSU is being overlooked and who gives a shite.

The games played will prove everything.

No serious contender would have been able to get up for a "Clemson". You want your team to get up for every game, but a game like that is just a trap.

and yet we get crap from everyone for Utah 08, after leading in the 4th in a game that would have put us in the NC, much bigger letdown than playing clemson.

That was an awful draw. No serious contender would have been able to get up for a "Clemson". You want your team to get up for every game, but a game like that is just a trap. LSU had nothing to gain in beating Clemson, Clemson had everything to gain.

I'm sorry but that's bullshite. We had that game in the bag then lost it in the 4th. Tahj Boyd took a ton of punishment and stayed in to beat us. I don't think the team was thinking "ugh god it's Clemson..what am I even doing here" when they were on the field.

gatotorbait we should have played Louisville and You guys should have played Clemson. We like New Orleans and everyone would have been pumped and you guys have to travel and would have been more pumped for Clemson. But Commissioner Satan didnt want that

Are kidding, You finished behind , UGA, UF, and USC. You were not even close to playing in the Sugar Bowl. You should have got the cotton, but with AM I suspect as long as they finish close they will get it most of the time.

I know I have a bias, but LSU is one of the best 7 teams in the country, imo. . .and a legit contender to win it all.

I guess LSU has to prove it on the field the hard way this year.

Did you cry when Bama had an uphill battle and 6 SEC teams had Bye weeks in 2010?

It is what it is. Les crying about it after the coaches meetings lets you know that he is a bumbling fool. Spike the ball! Eat some grass. Hell, his players leave for the Canadian football league before they want to play another down under his "leadership"

What will be better us when , AM realizes they are not really a top 20 team and still have a long way to go to remain there year in and out.
