It does take two. We can always just pay GSU to come get slaughtered. They need the cash.

And you actually pay GSU to help your ratings go down. Double revenue hit. There's a reason for the SEC Network -- the SEC as a whole has the bargaining power that a UF/11 Lower Schools Conglomerate doesn't. You're not going to get a special deal when nobody is tuning in to watch GSU cruise to a victory over the Gators.

In terms of TV viewership, or just in general?

I don't really want to get into the debate of who is the most important, but you can't possibly believe this.

Like this thread I think.

Big 6 of it would hurt the most to lose.

I didn't mention TAMU, not because I don't like them -- I do -- but because I was just talking in terms of emotional attachment to having teams in the conference. And TAMU hasn't been here long enough for me to really feel the loss if they left in the same sense as I would with AU/UAt/LSU/etc. If we're talking practical matters, then, yeah, losing TAMU would be a huge hit.

Frankly, on the list of programs I'd least like to lose, UF is well behind LSU, Auburn, Bama, Georgia, and Tennessee. It's slightly behind the Mississippi schools and UK. That's not the same as saying I'd like to lose UF, just that if the conference started crumbling, the order in which I'd be the most unhappy looks about like that.

UF might not be one of your favorites, but it would be a huge blow if the conference lost Florida. All you have to do is check out how many TV sets are in each of the SEC states and you will see why. The most popular team college or pro in a state of 20 million people, you can't replace that.

Dude, I'm generally pretty low-key about Vandy, preferring not to get all rah-rah about the academic part because that's just annoying and pretentious, but I'm going to point out that we'd be welcome pretty much anywhere, and the SEC really, really wouldn't want to lose Vandy because there's nobody that can really replace us. UF is a good school, but it's no Vandy. On the other hand, UK is better at basketball, UAt is better at football, and LSU and USCe, at the very least, are better in baseball.

Then leave. I'm sure Georgia Southern would love to take your place at the big boys' table. In some ways the already have.

Wasn't there a time when bowl revenue wasn't shared equally? Sort of you got a big piece of the pie if you went to a better game.

Football isn't the only sport being aired on the SECN.

Leave? That's the dumbest comment I've seen from a Gump in minutes. You think I can make that decision?

If I could though...

Is this true? Seriously asking, I've always assumed it was 50/50 with FSU, but had never seen any actual polling our statistics.

frick that shite. Give me that welfare.

Edit: Though with the sip having two schools and absolutely nothing else going on in our state. I know we don't have the numbers, but I bet we have the second highest percentage of viewers per population. The two fan bases combined have more loyal viewers than SC, Arky, and UK.

Or putting crocodiles on our media guides instead of a Florida Gator.

Wow. Florida just doesn't seem to be able to get it right, can they?

Yes. There is a pretty good gap between UF and FSU. The only poll I have ever seen done, had around 35% of the state identifying as Gators. 17% identified as Seminoles. Numbers wise that is about 7 million Gators to 3.4 million Noles.
