Better, but still weak. Once again, old timer, this thread was started by the nasty-mouthed Rooster aimed at Clemson. It doesn't have anything to do with LSU.

But, this is typical of USCe fans "Well, the SEC is the best! Look what the teams who beat the shite out of us every year have done! You can't match them!"

This is about football, right? I'm sure those tiddleywinks trophies really caught the nation's attention.

What about your original post, about all those championships the SEC has won since 1981? Get another Ensure and let us know.

Okay, here it is simplified

Tater gets 1st MNC for 1981 season

Tater gets 2nd MNC for 2016 season

Basically, you view 1982 onward (HGMF!) and see which schools have 1 or more MNC's to equal or surpass the single MNC that Taters now possess (post 1981). Schools in BOLD were in current conference prior to 1990's regiment.

SEC schools
(5) = Alabama in 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2015
(3) = Florida in 1996, 2006, and 2008
(2) = LSU in 2003 and 2007
(1) = Auburn in 2010 (and another in 2004 if they used Alabama standards)
(1) = Tennessee in 1998

ACC schools
(5) = Miami in 83', 87', and 89' as IND + 91' + 01' in Big East
(3) = Florida State in 1993 and 1999 pre expansion and 2013 post expansion
(1) = Georgia Tech in 1990
(1) = Notre Dame in 1988 as IND

B12 schools
(2) = Oklahoma in 1985 and 2000
(1) = Texas in 2005

B1G schools
(3) = Nebraska Big 8 in 1994 and 1995 + Big 12 in 1007
(2) = Ohio State in 2002 and 2014
(2) = Penn State in 1982 and 1984 as IND
(1) = Michigan in 1997

PAC schools
(1) = Southern California in 2003, as 2004 was vacated
(1) = Washington in 1991
(1) = Colorado in 1990 while in Big 12

2016 - 1981 = 35 years

Pretty sure most on this list will add another Natty or two before Clemson gets to 3.

Ohhhh, so you're just changing everything you said earlier, because that post made you look like a dumbass. Got it.

How about this - Clemson has more National Titles than the entire SEC since 2016!

Simplified.

You would be wrong in this case. South Carolina and Clemson's hatred of one another dates back to post-Reconstruction politics in South Carolina. The South Carolina-Clemson hate was a microcosm for the political feud between Wade Hampton and Ben Tillman. Hampton represented the interests of the planter aristocracy whose base of power was in the Midlands and the Lowcountry and Tillman's power base was in the yeoman farmers in the Piedmont and Upstate.

If that's the case, it sounds an awful lot like Tillman and Clemson were the good guys.

I mean honestly, the guy said many SEC teams have won at least 3 nattys since 1981, then literally used numbers that showed he was wrong to bolster his argument.

Clearly you do not understand the SEC, especially the SEC I come from. Attack 1 of us and you attack all of us. Remember, it is you coming to a SEC based board, not us going to an ACC or Clemson board.

Start a thread on here saying LSU baseball does not matter, I dare you!

SEC Rant is about SEC sports, hell we had a 10 - 20 page thread when Vanderbilt women were dueling Nebraska for a Natty in BOWLING! Granted football is a religion we all share here, if Alabama and Auburn had a tiddlywinks match we would have a 50 page game thread.

Alabama fans claiming a NC
Auburn fans claiming the refs for tiddlywinks were REC
Arkansas fans claiming Missouri tiddlywinks sucks
Texas A&M fans discussing quiddich
LSU and Tennessee fans supporting Auburn to piss off Alabama
Rebs and State fans discussing how tiddlywinks started in tLandmass
Everybody else from the current and former SEC putting in their 2 cents

Let me know when you guys start an ACC tRant for all the ACC schools to congregate on, but until then your envy of our ways just becomes more obvious.

Describes Taters pretty well

Incorrect, they have no more titles than the entire SEC since 2016 because NOBODY has a CFP MNC as the 2017 season has not been played yet! If you were correct, i think you need to replace 2016 with 2015.

Exactly.

And you're still wrong, Cheese. Only 2 SEC teams have won more than us in the agreed upon time period.

Dickishness aside, it is amazing, and kind of sad for the sport, that since 1980, 29 of the 36 titles have been won by only 10 teams.

Don't need one. We've got this board for a whole year. I would bet that if you went and counted posts not started by a Clemson supporter, that Clemson is mentioned more on this post in a year than Vandy (no offense).

Why do you think the SEC has historically banded together?

If the B1G and PAC had their way the winner of the Rose Bowl would be the MNC every year like in the days between Beyers taking over the NCAA in the 1950's and the Supreme Court decision in the 80's that allowed the CFA to form.

I give you guys credit for winning this year and agree the ACC had a damn good year. You do not need to whistle past the SEC, it is the B1G you need to be fighting as somewhere down the road that beatdown of the Buckeyes will get spun in favor of the Buckeyes.

You really are a slow coach.

They are not Clemson supporters as much as sheep in Tater clothing using your win to troll Bama fans.

Lol just wiki Ben Tillman. You will see that is certainly not the case.

quote:

Benjamin Ryan Tillman (August 11, 1847 – July 3, 1918) was a politician of the Democratic Party who was Governor of South Carolina from 1890 to 1894, and a United States Senator from 1895 until his death in 1918. A white supremacist who often spoke out against blacks, Tillman led a paramilitary group of Red Shirts during South Carolina's violent 1876 election. On the floor of the U.S. Senate, he frequently ridiculed blacks, and boasted of having helped to kill them during that campaign.

I was kidding about good guys vs bad guys (can't imagine too many Reconstruction Era pols in SC being nice guys tbh) but damn talk about two shithead politicians. Yikes. And one's a motherfricking Red Shirt?!! Those frickers were legendary bad.

That one-eyed fricker would make you disappear for calling him Dracula!

Good guys were few and far between in Reconstruction-era South Carolina. Granted, not many were like Tillman, but not many of the SC Aristocracy were happy to see those changes come in. I know your narrative is that everything Clemson is racist, but it wasn't confined to the Upstate.
