From most neutral to least neutral?

1) Tampa and Miami
2) Atlanta
3) Nashville
4) Memphis
5) Dallas, Houston, St. Louis I am assuming are neutral but I Confess I do not know a lot about the newcomers.

6) Every other city is anything but neutral. New Orleans, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Little Rock, Columbia SC, Louisville, Mobile, Jackson, Baton Rouge are overwhelmingly pro the local schools.

UT is the biggest fanbase in the Nashville area. Bama and Kentucky are probably bigger than Vandy.

If Nashville is neutral, that is pretty sad for Vandy.

They recently did a promo, that if you bought a $10 scarf from the bookstore you got two tickets to the home opener. All this, in efforts to fill a 38,000 seat stadium.

You are obviously not a native of Nashville which is very much a melting pot. If you were a native you would realize Alabama fans probably outnumber Vol fans and Vandy is closing the gap in Davidson and Williamson counties because more Nashvillians are becoming aware that UT is really the University of East Tennessee.

I live in Nashville and have since 2004. Tennessee is far and away the most represented followed by bama, then everyone else.

Lol at vandy closing any sort of gap. I see more ole miss fans than vandy

I was in New Orleans last weekend at the piano bar in Pat O's. I had to pony up money several times to get them to stop playing Tenessee's, Ole Miss's, and Bama's fight songs. Seemed pretty neutral to me.

What about Florida, I think Florida could be the hardest state to determine, Lived in Pensacola for almost a year back in 2009, and surprisingly I met more gator fans than Noles,

Tourist bar on a tourist street..... Probably had a bunch of people from UT, Ole Miss and Bama in there from out of town.

In the city as a whole N.O. is overwhelmingly pro LSU.

Wasn't the SEC basketball tourney in Tampa a few years back? I seem to remember scores of empty seats. (could have been Orlando)

I know you were trying to make Vandy sound stupid for selling scarves - but fyi - I believe it was a fundraiser for the hospital.

Lived in New Orleans for awhile and it was pretty much all LSU with a small pocket of Bama fans. Moved to Miami recently and it is all Gator fans if they even watch football. I would have to say Kansas City on account of them not giving a crap.

You seem so sure of yourself and the facts. If that is the case, try driving down the road in Nashville on any given day and count the UT car stickers to Alabama. It is close to being even. UT is getting challenged by the Tide in its own back yard and Tennessee is supposed to be the State's flagship. Talking about pathetic.

As one living in Nashville I can second this. It's probably more a sign of the times. Once UT becomes nationally relevant again we will start seeing more orange. Bama is definitely winning the bumper sticker battle right now though.

Oh, and I took advantage of the scarf deal and got three tickets for tomorrow's game for a total of $10. Can't get much better than that!

I believe in my freshman class in 1970 we had a little over a thousand people at Vandy. Arguing the size of fan bases is idiotic. Yes, we have the fewest number of grads and fans in the SEC. Alert the media.

Actually, I see like 3 Vols to 1 bama. Knoxville is where UT is located. Nashville is vandys backyard, that's the only pathetic thing here. It would be kinda like if you were in Tallahassee and saw more Auburn and UF stuff. That would never happen.

Moral of the story, UT owns the state and Nashville, with second place going to bama within the city. And other schools with large numbers. That is sad considering Nashville is home to Vanderbilt University.

Believe it or not there are a lot Vandy fans in Nashville. But there are tons of Bama, Vol, Rebel, Wildcat and War Eagle fans also. It is what it is.

WHen it comes to gear, Bama fans are the most obvious so it seems like they are greater in number than actual per capita. Many Vandy fans just do not wear gear but they are out there.
