The campus was shut down. How are you going to play a game when the campus is shut down?

You asked me how I felt about the situation. Sorry that I feel like your school handled it as bad as anybody.....and again, I put absolutely zero onus on UF. The safety of their students/faculty/coaching staff and their families/players and their families was more important. There are times when a football game doesn't mean a damn thing. This was one of those times.

If i were a gump, I'd probably react with unfunny "humor" that reveals my jealousy of LSU getting attention.

Do we not remember what this place was like every time UF would release a statement saying they were waiting to monitor the storm? Now all of a sudden the narrative is that UF should have waited to see what happens? That's exactly what UF was attempting to do and then this whole thing blew up because of the LSU administration trying to negotiate through the press.

"UF/LSU Football Game: It will be at noon as scheduled, though this is subject to change."

That's from the link you just posted. Sounds like the UF administration was planning on having the game played as scheduled even though the campus was "shut down".

Did UF not continuously release statements saying they were monitoring the storm and the game was still scheduled? How were those releases met by LSU admin, fans and LA newspapers?

The game had already been postponed. I can't answer why that was in that article.

...UF was WAY to quick to just outright cancel the game instead of either A) waiting and seeing what actually happens or B) finding an alternate location to play the game.

Being from New Orleans I do not think playing with hurricanes is funny or wise.

What I do find "funny" is one LSU fan says they should have moved it early in the week when the threat developed, and now another says they made a decision too quick.. and all these LSU fans were 500 miles away from the epicenter. Freaking arm-chair generals talking about what they would do in Vietnam while sipping cocktails...

The reason LSU is regarded as the bad guys in this is because of that LSU AD director's big public mouth. He went on national press and went on and on trashing about Florida. And then he threatened to cancel if the game wasn't in BR, and continued to be a general dick about any reasonable compromise.

Truth is LSU had gained an advantage the previous year getting USCe to give LSU a free home game. And so the AD tried to publically pressure Florida to move it to BR thinking it would be easy. And then you fans acted like sheep spoiled children ranting and blaming blame everyone except yourselves..

Wake up! Just about everyone in the country, certainly the SEC, cheered when Florida won that game and there is a reason. Yet you learn nothing, so here you pips are, still protesting and declaring LSU blameless and this and that, and everyone is telling you to sit down and shut the F up about it. Your credibility is damaged.

My advice... sit down and shut the F up about it...your credibility is damaged.

Well, if the storm is a threat, LSU fans can rest easy that with the steady, assured leadership of Joe Alleva there's no way the situation will be mishandled.

My only hope is Texas state officials handle this and nobody in power in Louisiana makes a decision

You have to admit the whole thing blew up to absolutely ridiculous proportions. It was embarrassing the way it all played out. At the end of the day the SEC wanted a decision, UF couldn't guarantee it could be played in Gainesville at that time so they decided it had to be postponed.
