In this instance, there may actually be severe weather conditions at the game site (Houston) , unlike last year's Gainesville game.

There is so much dumb azz in this statement, and in the LSU fan base over that storm, that it is hard to stomach.

Hey.. dude .. did you KNOW before the game was canceled that there wouldn't be severe weather the day of the game? Did you have a crystal ball? Magic? What would have happened if your crystal ball was wrong, and 100,000 came and the storm changed course?

The stupids in Baton Rouge were abetted by that loudmouth incompetent AD who stoked the whole thing to try to take advantage and get an extra home field game. It is one reason LSU has used up their free passes among most of the SEC fan bases.

LSU demands it to be played in BR and loses again. BYU should demand the game be moved to Provo, refuse to play until it is and force LSU to travel out there later in the season.

LSU would demand to play it on Sunday. Then claim BYU is scared when they claim religious beliefs keep them from playing on Sunday.

I know this board has gone to shite, but can I at least get a troll to explain how the game being moved or cancelled would have any fault on LSU? This game is in Houston

You are so angry. The reason why LSU fans were upset, is the fact UF didnt plan. They waited, waited, waited, waited, and then cancelled. Yes, there was no way of knowing what the storm would be. That is why the many days in advance you make a contingency plan.

Like what exactly? The entire Eastern side of the State was shut down. Miami and the Keys missed it, other than that..........

Would that be three incomplete seasons in a row?

Three incompletions in a row should be business as usual for LSU fans.

Move it to LSU. It should have been simple. You announce on Monday, that the decision to play the game in Gainesville or BR will be announced on Friday morning.

At that time, you iron out that LSU will return the trip two times. Look, what happened happened. I put the majority of the blame on the SEC office. It was handled hilariously bad for a multi-million dollar organization. Did you notice how the other conferences handled thier florida games that weekend?

Yes, the school closest to Gainesville canceled their game. IIRC, FSU was on the road that weekend.

So on record you think the SEC handled the situation properly?

I don't think UF did a damn thing wrong.

At one time, that was a massive storm. In fact, the Friday before the game the Weather Channel was urging the East Coast of Fl. to evacuate. Some places had a mandatory evacuation. Florida got damn lucky that the storm veered a smidgen to the East. That could have been catastrophic.

The SEC kind of had their hands tied. UF wanted to reschedule. LSU would only do that if UF went to LSU. Then it became a pissing match. LSU handled it as poorly as anybody, IMO.

Which is why I said the blame should be put on the SEC

UF AD did what was in the best interest of UF, not the game being played. Dont blame him at all

LSU wanted the best for LSU. Dont blame him

SEC commish did nothing besides bitch. With Slive, the shite never would have hit the fan. There is a reason ESPN and others said it was handled like a joke

This is untrue. We offered to play Sunday or Monday in Gainesville. So please restate

I would not be surprised. If it's not this one, it's bound to be another one. We haven't played our full schedule since 2014 and I'm beginning to doubt we ever will again. We should schedule 13 regular season games every year so we can maybe actually play 12.

You're whole crystal ball theory is exactly why you don't cancel the game before anything even happens. You wait and see. That's the issue, that UF was WAY to quick to just outright cancel the game instead of either A) waiting and seeing what actually happens or B) finding an alternate location to play the game.

No matter how y'all try to spin it, that ENTIRE clusterfrick was squarely on Foley and Sankey's shoulders.

Now the pissing match that followed is another story but that whole situation could have been avoided if UF or the SEC took steps to play the game as scheduled.
