It had everything to do with everything involved in coaching at Fla...ask Muschamp...it was an era when the thugs from the state of Fla migrated to UFla instead of the usual Miami and FSU because of their problems.

Um, funny how the arrests went down when Urban's recruits left.

I don't care that Meyer left. He was hired to do a job and he did it well. I think he handled his departure poorly. He built this up as a family, health thing only to jump back into college football after a small break. I think it's fair to call him out on that. He doesn't have to justify it to me or any one else, but it is a fair criticism.

He's on top of the world at OSU now. Let's see if Harbaugh can bring him back down to Earth.

And who was head coach during this era?

Small sample size. No one cares about BGSU or Utah, so there arrests are hardly as publicized. Give it time at OSU. It's coming.

He wasn't at either program long enough for there to be issues. He left both within 2 years.

Well, he's been there 3 years, so the problems should have presented themselves by now. I would say having 4 players suspended for week one of the season would indicate some issues, not sure if I'd classify as "thug issues" though.

Also, perhaps Meyer learned from his time at UF and has cleaned up his act or has gotten better at covering for his players. I do know that the folks at Florida - where he coached for 5 years - probably have more insight on the man than do folks at an OSU where he's been for 3.

the 4 players suspended for OSU's 1st game would not have been suspended by any SEC team

Yeah, Meyer is recruiting such thugs now. Here's an example. BTW, Baker was committed to Florida for a short time. Outstanding young man.

Why were they suspended and what are you using to support this assertion on your part?

The rumor mill is a couple for weed and a couple for shirking academic responsibilities.

This was a huge portion of UF's arrests. Difference being it is thuggery at UF.

Jeremy Fowler was the reported that wrote a false report about a Fla player that was later retracted. Meyer threatened to kick his sorry arse and told him he wasn't welcome at Fla practices anymore....and YOU choose to believe this reporter?..he's the whiny bitch that still has his feelings hurt and fighting back the only way he can..meyer should have just kicked his arse and made him like it.

Do y'all even care about how much you look like LSU fans talking about Saban?

Did Saban destroy LSU's program on the way out the door and call them a broken program on national television (forgetting the fact that HE was the one who broke it)? No

LSU went from 9-3 in Saban's last season to 3 consecutive 11+ win seasons.

Urban left Florida a wreck. Even if Muschamp had been a mediocre coach, it would have taken 3-4 years to undo the damage...which is why he stayed the coach as long as he did.

I'm sorry, but the Saban/LSU and Urban/UF situation are not the same.

I just think when you're at the top of the mountain you don't have to take as many chances. but, as said, 5 years from now is when stories would come out realistically

This is one of dozens of reports saying the same thing. People within the program including the athletic director himself has said there was a problem. Why is it so hard to believe? Doesn't mean Meyer hasn't changed, but this isn't a matter of opinion.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Spurrier's decision had nothing to do with the players at UF. It was the snub by our athletic director that ultimately led to him winding up at USC.

Urban recruited players from all over the country. Percy was from Maryland, Hernandez was from Connecticut, etc. Yeah I guess it's just something about that florida air that attracts these kinds of players right? Nothing to do with Urban. You buckeye fans are a hoot.

Blaming the guy that left is the easy way out. It had a lot to do with Muschamp and terrible hires (Weis). The truth is usually somewhere in the middle and this is no exception.
