I remember telling UF fans they would get burned, just like people have tried to tell OSU fans it would happen to them.

If OSU was mediocre for 6 years after winning 2 titles...I'd live

Good article

After reading, would anyone still rather have Urban Meyer over Saban

Where will Meyer go though? Outside of a huge controversy I don't see the guy leaving for a long time.

So realistically, 3-4 years

Urban ain't leaving OSU. He'll be the man there for a loooong time, unfortunately. I just hope Harbaugh can play his foil with succeess.

I agree. He may be on top at OSU now, but in a few years...

I disagree. I think OSU is a better fit for him than Florida was. No one will question anything he does as long as he competes for championships. The previous coach and president, along with the current AD showed that no one is above the head coach at Ohio State.

I never found myself really liking Urban even when we were winning, he had a habit of talking down to you in a yankee kind of way.

I had always liked UF, until the Urban era. I'd liked them throughout the Spurrier era, so disliking them had nothing to do with their success or them beating Bama. Urban just always seemed like such a dickweed and the team was out of control. This article shows me that it was even worse than I realized. Since he's left, I've started liking the Gators again and I hope McElwain builds the program back in the right way, so that it will last longer than Urban's did.

Do you like Urban more now? I hated the guy 100% when he was at UF too, and now I like him. I don't want to think it's purely the homer in me, but it could be

My FSU friend said he seemed totally different last year as opposed to when he was the Gator coach

I guess it is lost on all of you that the author..Jeremy fowler is a uFla graduate. Another sour grapes bullshite, fairytale account of the truth.

There's a reason none of his peers..including Saban, Mullen, Miles, Spurrier, etc..have never, EVER said a disparaging word about Meyer..just ignorant fans and media mugs with axe's to gring.

Meyer is at Ohio St. for the long haul. He went to school there. He grew up admiring the program. The thuggery at Fla would wear on anyone. Hell, Spurrier wanted no part in going back there..ya think maybe it is a Fla problem?

Get used to looking up at Meyer and Ohio St. and quit thinking that everyone that has achieved excellence in their field is a POS. You know what they say about pointing a finger at someone...there's four others poiting back at you.

Hasn't Urban gone on record as proclaiming Notre Dame is his "Dream Job"

Am I misremembering?

Meyer had his choice of ND or Fla in 2004...he chose Fla...you don'yt do that if ND was your 'dream' school. Ohis State was and always will be his 'dream' school.

btw..ask a Mich st or LSU writer to do a piece on saban...ask an Okie st writer to do a piece on Miles...guess what you'll get? same thing as Fowler wrote

He has named like 4 or 5 different schools as his "dream job". Notre Dame was always thought to be the top of the list, but of course he chose UF over them. If nothing had happened health-wise and he knew the program would still be going strong I think he would still be at UF today.

The "thuggery" was part of Meyer's program. You think it was like that when Spurrier was here only a few years earlier?

I don't have any ill will towards Meyer, I'm appreciative of what he accomplished, but there is no denying the culture change that took place under his watch.

Spurrier wanted no part of a return to Fla...before Meyer took the job

Before OSU, Notre Dame was always the top of his list. He even said that while he was working at UF.

On Wednesday, Meyer told a Florida radio show that Notre Dame is "still my dream job; that hasn't changed."

Which had nothing to do with thuggery as you said.

ITT: Defensive Buckeye fans.

Relax, you Yankees. You don't need to slobber on Urban's knob to enjoy the success. Take it from a Gump.
