It's a marketing move, nothing else. I appreciate Coker but he's not as good as Allen or a bunch of other guys. Unfortunate, but the promoters of the event want a crowd there, and Bama players will help that. Plus Coker is from Mobile, which adds to it.
Coker has some tools. His release, though, will keep him from ever being an option in the NFL. So slow.

Yeah, Allen should have gotten it. Ah well, It'll be fun watching him.

is coker really a better prospect?
They both seem like marginal NFL guys to me. Like, maybe stick around on a roster for a few years but hardly ever play unless a team is hit with injuries kind of guys. I'm not that convinced Coker will be drafted.
Allen had a better year than Coker this year.

Why would you encourage the gumps to post more than they already do?

One plays for Alabama
One doesn't.

The senior bowl always invites multiple Bama and Auburn players, to increase attendance. This isn't anything new. Besides, I doubt the roster is finalized.

Senior Bowl exec is a Bama grad, no joke.

Fair enough. We never really had to rely on Coker because our running game was strong. A few occasions late in game we did, and he came through. We're simply a less pass-oriented offense this year.
Bama and Arkansas are remarkably similar. Y'all have Henry, they have Collins. Both gave their respective teams a legitimate run option to keep the d-lines honest.

I would bet that Henry accounted for a much higher percentage of our play calls and offensive production

Probably. But I would also bet Henry got the ball more often in garbage time to eat up the clock. Collins didn't have that opportunity as often.

Right, that would be true. Saban has always been a run-first eat-up-the-clock coach when Bama has a decent lead, and Bama had a lot of decent leads this season.
