They'd all be thrilled with 10 wins. I see them losing at least 3 games.

You guys only remember last year. If USC and shithead Lane Kiffin would have scored from the 1 yard line against Notre Dame, Florida plays Bama for the title that year

If you're talking about 2012, the score of that ND/USC game was 22-13 ND when they had the goal line stand. Even if USC scores there, ND probably still wins. That's why it was the most overrated moment of that entire season.

Also, Oregon would have probably gotten in over Florida in that case.

Yea, I wouldn't be mad, but the season would be a failure.

Losing to Florida this season would make the whole season a disappointment. We could win the SEC and the NT but if we lose to Florida then the season was nothing but shite.

I would take 10-2 all day.

You are absolutely correct about the USC/ND game. I hate when I remember things incorrectly, but had USC won the game, Florida would have gotten in over Oregon.

I think if UT loses to UF and wins the natty you will be able to sleep at night. OM could lose to the local convent and I wouldn't care as long as we won the NC.

Yes I agree. I also understand and would be frustrated had we lost 11 in a row.

Unless we somehow still manage to win the SEC, I'm not gonna be okay with any season that doesn't involve us breaking at least one of those streaks.

I get that those 2 are the circled ones that you reeeeeeally want the most. But after 5-7, 7-6, and 9-4, I don't see how you dont' automatically take 10-2.

Do you realize it's been TWELVE YEARS since ut had a regular season with 2 or less losses?

The schedule is trash and this is the make or break year. 10-2 has to include a win over Florida or it's disappointing.

I wouldn't go that far. 14-1 and a natty with a loss to UF is still a season I'd take in a heartbeat. But if we do lose to UF, it's honestly pretty unlikely the season will end up as anything other than a disappointment. It would take something extraordinary for that to happen (read: beating Bama and winning the east).

We could go 10-2 with losses to Bama and UF, still make the SECC and id be happy. Id be pissed we didn't break the streak, but a chance in the SECC is enough consolation.

Only if we win it. Otherwise it would just be another missed opportunity.

So you could end up 11-2 and in the top 10 and the season is a failure? That is a ton of pressure on two games. What about 10-2 and you lose to Kentucky and Vandy? Season is a success?

Yeah.

So basically, last year with an easier schedule.

After the outrage of an all SEC title game the year before, they would have given someone else another shot, justified or not. It might have been Oregon even though they didn't win the Pac12 that year.

Notre Dame got a few gifts from god that year, like Stanford's TD not counting in overtime and not being penalized for having multiple players with the same number on the field during a FG that would have lost them a game vs Pitt, but that goal line stand was insignificant in that game.

Winning the East is my marker for the season. Whether that's from us going 10-2 with losses to UF/Bama or not, that's what's expected. And even though it'd technically be a success, losing to UF again this year will cause a lot of unrest among the fanbase. I think the only way Butch can get away with losing to UF this year (and keep fans happy) is if that was out only loss and we got a playoff bid.
