I would think 10-2 would get you into the SEC championship game most of the time, but UF went 11-1 in 2012 and didn't get in. So it is not a guarantee.

This graph is the biggest load of shite I've ever seen in my life. To answer the OP, I would be permarustled if VOLS win 10 games and tEast only to extend the losing streaks to Alabama and Florida.

Any 10-2 combination besides losses to UF and Bama would most likely be ok with me. 10-2 with losses to UF and bama would just piss me off. Although a lot depends on if we win the division or not.

With all the angst that we have caused you lately, Gloat away sir. Still semi-rustled from that damn game.

Exactly, that's why it would be horrible. 10 win season that wouldn't amount to anything except maybe a NY6 bowl. But only OM fans think those are impressive.

The only thing it would accomplish would be 2 quality away wins vs UGA and TAMU. Which would be nice, but not enough.

Yeah that graph is just straight up lying. Truth is, in every year since 08 outside of Dooley's last two seasons (esp his last one) and 08, we finished right around where most UT fans expected us to in the preseason.

We could go 10-2 with losses to Bama and UF, still make the SECC and id be happy. Id be pissed we didn't break the streak, but a chance in the SECC is enough consolation.

But if we go 10-2 (Bama/UF), miss out on the SECC, I'd be furious. Yes, its a 10 win season that we haven't gotten in a while. But ultimately, it wouldn't mean anything. 1) We'd still get so much grief for losing to the good teams on our schedule. 2) With the east being the way it is this season (lot of new coaching staffs, player attrition, unproven QBs), if we cant win it this year, when can we win it? 3) we lose a lot of contributors next season

It would basically be last year with wins over Oklahoma and Arkansas. You would probably finish top 10 and maybe even top 5 depending on the bowl game.

You guys only remember last year. If USC and shithead Lane Kiffin would have scored from the 1 yard line against Notre Dame, Florida plays Bama for the title that year. It was all set up. Not saying you would get into the playoff with 2 losses but it is possible. LSU got in the natty game with 2 losses.

You could get a re-match with Bama in the SEC Champ game and beat them and get in the playoff. It is not unrealistic. There have been plenty of times the loser of the UF/UT game has won the East. It happened the last time you won the East.

Even if we do go 10-2, if we do none of these 3:

-beat UF
-beat bama
-win the East

the season is a failure IMO.

So you could end up 11-2 and in the top 10 and the season is a failure? That is a ton of pressure on two games. What about 10-2 and you lose to Kentucky and Vandy? Season is a success?

We haven't won either of those 2 games in a combined 20 years, that has to change this season. if we are as good as we should be. We should beat at least 1 of Bama or UF.

Well this offseason we've been getting shite on for 9-4 because we didn't beat the good teams on our schedule. Is 10-2 that much better if it's still a loss to UF and Bama? Either way, tRant would find a way to downgrade.

I'd definitely take that. 10-2 with losses to Bama and Florida would win the east.

Also any team in the SEC would be happy with 10-2 except for Bama and maybe LSU.
