THIS.... I said on another thread Bama will lose about 3 games, maybe more. But, that's being veeeery optimistic. There simply is NO replacing a coach like Saban, especially against a tougher schedule and changing cfb landscape.

I'll get stoned by the goofballs on this forum for saying this, but honestly, I think the Tide's glory days are over. roll the credits, the show's over. It was good while it lasted, but NOTHING lasts for ever.

Defense will determine how successful DeBoer is. The defensive staff he’s assembled looks like shite to me for a program the stature of Bama. As far as I know, DeBoer has never worked with star defensive coaches at any of his stops. To be fair, Saban and company had let the defense slip since Pruitt left.

On offense, DeBoer will put an offensive product on the field that will be on the level of Sark and Kiffin.

Ignorant. Bama has more five stars on the team now than Tennessee has had on their entire team for 10+ years.

The number of 5 stars we have doesn’t mean shite when you’re playing against coaches who are better developers of talent and programs with deeper pockets to get guys out of the portal. Look at how strong Michigan was on both DL and OL in particular. That’s all talent evaluations, coaching, development, and great use of the portal.

You're using an .804 winning percentage as a knock against someone?

Yeah, Deboer went only went to the championship game last year because of his roster with all 5 star talent

Maybe stones aren't needed. After all, I hear that he'll easily out do Sark or Kiffen.

He already has.

5 years after he's won the SEC twice and CFP once but gets a call from the Seahawks or Broncos

We'll be upset if he loses 7 games in his first 2 years like Kelly did.

You should be.

Anything more than 2 regular season losses will be a massive underachievement.

Or he could have gone 28-18 like Brian Kelly did in his first 46 games as a D1 coach. Quite impressive of Kelly to double up the number of losses Deboer has this far into his D1 career. And of course Kelly had zero top 10 wins vs 4 for Deboer.

Not sure this is true, Ole Miss and Alabama were both ranked top 10 when LSU beat them in 2022.

ETA I see you mean his first 4 years now.

I'm talking about DeBoer's defensive staff. DeBoer is in my opinion legit as they come on offense.
